[Order David Horowitz’s new book, America Betrayed, HERE.]
Although I predicted to friends and family that our 45th—and soon to be 47th—President Donald J. Trump would be convicted in the kangaroo court/sham trial in Manhattan, even I was unprepared for the breathtaking “Guilty On All Counts” verdict unsealed Thursday afternoon.
The breadth and impact of this action by 12 jurors—acting as twelve Pinocchios for Judge Juan Merchan’s Gepetto—proved our worst fears about their inability to be fair and impartial. In the face of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s absurd actions, running years-old misdemeanor cases through a food processor, he created never-before seen case law that made bookkeeping entries into “felonies.” And the men and women of the jury opted to rubber stamp not one, not a few, but all 34 of Bragg’s made-up charges…choosing to be swayed by convicted perjuror and Trump-hater Michael Cohen into an historic smear of a former president of the United States.
To call them spineless may seem too harsh to some, but let’s face it: among the men and women of this disgraceful jury were two lawyers…and a lawyer served as foreman of the panel. Search your heart and ask yourself if you really thought Manhattan attorneys would actually weigh the evidence fairly andever deliver a not guilty verdict, knowing that they would have to return to their law firms and face colleagues after “letting Trump go free.” Apparently you never watched the cable series Suits if you thought that was even a remote possibility.
Ditto for the rest of the jurors. They each raised their right hand and swore an oath to be fair and impartial, but obviously peer pressure ultimately prevented them from voting not guilty on even a single one of the 34 Bragg-manufactured charges. Look up the term “miscarriage of justice” in the dictionary and you’ll likely find each of their faces.
Reaction to the verdicts was swift. U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson declared May 30th as“a shameful day in American history” adding, “Democrats cheered as they convicted the leader of the opposing party on ridiculous charges, predicated on the testimony of a disbarred, convicted felon. This was a purely political exercise, not a legal one.”
On FOX News, Karl Rove quickly predicted that Trump’s conviction would likely cost him the states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. (I assume Karl employed the same cat-like reflexes that he displayed supporting “Jeb!” Bush back in 2016…so forgive me for not believing him.)
MSNBC, meantime, rushed Rachel Maddow into their TV studios to declare somberly that “this is an historic moment;” meantime her network colleagues including Nicolle Wallace could barely contain their glee. Written on their faces and in their intonations was the inescapable message that “THIS time we’ve GOT him.”
Unfortunately for the Biden White House which orchestrated this Third World sham of a trial and their acolytes in media and showbiz (like the unhinged Robert DeNiro whose bizarre performance outside the courtroom this week made most observers think he needs to be fitted for a straitjacket) the Manhattan verdicts will not “sink” Donald Trump. He will likely gain in the polls as Americans express their revulsion over the Joe Biden/Merrick Garland/Alvin Bragg “lawfare” rolled out for no other reason than to convict a political rival who is soaring in the polls.
The historical parallel for what’s coming for Democrats this November can be found in the words of Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto who planned the dastardly sneak attack on Pearl Harbor which propelled the United States into World War II. Yamamoto reportedly wrote in his diary, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
Voters will have their say in November, and I firmly believe Donald Trump will roar into the Fall elections stronger than ever in the face of this manufactured “conviction.”
But as someone who was born in New York, this whole shameful episode has tarnished my fond memories of what was once the greatest city on earth. The vibrant, exciting “city that never sleeps” has—under Democrat control—morphed into a dystopian nightmare that now is unsafe even for a former president.
I’m going to vote with my feet and with my wallet. I will never set foot in New York City ever again. No Broadway shows. No Yankees games. No shopping. No tourism like visiting the Statue of Liberty or Central Park or the Bronx Zoo.
In the spirit of pride month activists who boycott cities over “bathroom laws” and major corporations who pull investments out of states that enact voter registration laws with which they disagree, I simply will not spend a penny in a city that houses such biased, spineless jurors who would rather sandbag our former President than uphold the rule of law.
I hope and pray other freedom loving Americans will join me. In addition to not helping fund atrocities like the Trump prosecution, I’m not predisposed to being carjacked by youth gangs or shoved onto subway tracks by mentally ill homeless vagrants. Nor did I have any desire—even before the legal lynching of President Trump this week—to book an overpriced hotel room in a city that funnels dangerous illegals onto the same hotel floors as paying guests.
To paraphrase Patrick Henry, I care not what others may do. But as for myself, the Big Apple is dead to me.

This came from the White House. So the US is dead to me and has been since10/7 and that may very well include you.
David Ray says
Cat,
I’ve been told the 4 days were arranged with Wednesday off rather than Friday so as to deny the jury pool any Orthodox Jews.
Is that factual? Is it a thing that Orthodox members require Fridays off?
(If so, then that was one more facet in which they rigged this show trial.)
Alkflaeda says
I believe they need to be home before sunset on Friday because that’s the start of their Sabbath. So whether it affected them or not would depend on how long the court day was.
Miranda Rose Smith says
You are correct. OrthodoxvJews have to leave earlyvon Friday afternoon, although this time of year, they could quute possibly make it home by sunset if they left the courthouse at 16:00 or 17:00.
Jj Binks says
That is factual. They wanted no Jews. I can also tell you, as a 20-year resident of the city who has served on three long-term juries, lawyers are never allowed on juries. This jury had two lawyers, one serving as foreman. The foreman is always the first juror picked, so they intentionally chose a lawyer as their first juror.
My father was a lawyer in NYC. All he ever had to do was say he was a lawyer and he would be excused. I have seen the same thing myself when serving on juries. Lawyers are always excused or challenged by the other side.
Miranda Rose Smith says
My father, may he rest in peace, was a television producer and scriptwriter. He was sometimes rejected for jury duty because he sometimes wrote scripts for detective shows.
Intrepid says
We are now a full throated banana republic. Expect the same verdicts in D.C. when the Chutkin trial is over. This Trump verdict reminds me of the track record being compiled by Matthew Graves in D.C. on the Jan 6 trials. The guy never loses a case which is beyond explanation. The j6 convictions are obviously fixed because it’s D.C. The city is beyond pro deep state.
Where was the voir dire process when picking the Alvin Bragg jurors? Are they really telling me they couldn’t find a pro Trump juror? Commie Judge Merchan obviously went juror shopping. He is completely corrupted along with his daughter. And why didn’t Trump’s lawyers complain about the jury selection? I never heard a word about the process.
Only 12 hours of deliberation? Were the jurors paid off? Was dinner waiting at home for them? Were the Yankees on YV?
Trump’s lawyers are weak. He needs to fire them.
I am beyond pissed off. If, somehow, Trump is in jail when the election comes along write in his name and send a message to the Marxists and the deep state.
The Democrats crossed the Rubicon. We are in uncharted territory here. The Democrats might as well run a Stalin look-a-like.
Trump needs to file an emergency appeal to the Supremes, like today. He doesn’t have a chance with NY state appeals.
Anne-Marie says
Even the best defense lawyers wouldn’t have stood a chance in this kangaroo court.. The bought-and-paid-for judge overruled every single one of their objections – what were they supposed to do – say “Your Honour, I strongly object?! (like in the movie A Few Good Men)?.
There is absolutely no doubt that the jurors were paid off to deliver that BS verdict.
And Bragg has the gall to stand up with a straight face and tell the world that the jury diligently examined all the evidence and came to the right verdict (yeah right!).
If this doesn’t get reversed somehow, America has truly lost its way.
Reader says
PDT’s attorneys made the best choices w/the jury that they could. Dismissals are limited to a specific number for specific purposes.
Jojo says
They certainly should have challenged the two lawyers. You get a few dismissals for which you need state no reason. A lawyer was chosen as foreman, which means he was chosen first. There’s no excuse for letting that happen.
Semaphore says
I don’t know that his lawyers were weak, but only that they realized that a fair and balanced jury was a daydream. Every objection from the defense was overruled while every prosecutorial objection was sustained. The defense’s chief witness was not allowed to testify much as every defense question was objected to by the prosecution, all of which were sustained. Marchan at one point raised his voice at the witness. After a while, discretion becomes the better part of valor. One thing to be said, the whole country, and the world, watched this clown show, I hope New York is proud.
JJ Binks says
New York City is run by Communists and Islamists. I recently moved out of there after 20 years of putting up with it for the sake of my husband’s job. You would be hard pressed to find a Trump supporter in Manhattan. Maybe Queens or Staten Island. Every time I would get aggravated and say what I thought, I did it with the knowledge that someone around me might kill me for it. Because that’s how they are.
The people are dogmatic, intolerant and highly corrupt. They enjoy inflicting pain on others, especially those who don’t conform to their narrow world view. I’m boycotting New York City now. Everyone should. Bleed it dry.

foxhound says
The thing not mentioned in this article was the other pressure that was put on the jury. As the jury lawyers walk back to their jobs they would find their key would not fit the door if they voted to acquit The others were “informed” of accidents and job loss as well. The court easily released their info to interested parties. What will be the next step against Trump? You can bet there are other traps waiting as well.
JJ Binks says
You know what else a threatened jury member could do then? Announce in court that they could no longer continue on that jury because they were being threatened. My father spent 30 years working in those courts and many a jury member has been threatened there. They need only to speak up. Nah, these bozos are corrupt and wanted a conviction.

What is sad is that in my youth in the last century, New York was the cultural and intellectual mecca of the USA, and according to some, the world. Then a series of “progressive” mayors did their thing, and by the 1980’s it was bankrupt. For a time it also became the murder capital of the country. How little things have changed.

More like the GOP can’t be bothered with fighting back. They only care about what lines their pockets and right now what lines their pockets is the promise of global governance by the United Nations. They’re getting ready to be filthy rich figureheads that get to do even less work and be totally above reproach by the people.
Anne-Marie says
Even if the 2 lawyers didn’t have the gonads or the integrity to find Trump not guilty, I doubt they had that much power on their own over the rest of the jury.
Not only were these other jurors spineless and self-serving numb nuts.; I strongly suspect that they were promised a very handsome pay-off by Soros or one of his puppets to find Trump “guilty of all charges” (which in itself makes no legal sense whatsoever). Money speaks – screw integrity and fairness.
Semaphore says
Two remarks here: First, guilt was not to be determined by unanimous vote (as is normally the case) but by some convoluted notion of majority, and second, remember that jurors are likely people too dumb to wiggle their way out of jury duty.
Jojo says
In New York City the lawyers and bankers are just as corrupt as the professional Communists and Islamists. I would not expect integrity from a New York City lawyer.

I live in a suburb of Chicago (originally called “Checagou”, a phoneticization of the Indian word for “stinking onion,” which evidently grew here until at least 250 years ago).
Chicago’s mayor is Brandon Johnson, a black communist whose name lends itself to a transposition of FJB to FBJ.
Johnson is going to do his best to help re-elect Trump as president. He was trying to limit protest permits to a distance of three miles from the United Center, and the ACLU and other groups are already challenging that in court, demanding to be allowed to protest one block away.
Most importantly, Brandon and the president of Chicago’s police Union loathe each other. So any violence by Hamasniks, BLM, Antifa and others will not be met by aggressive police like Richard Daley’s head busters in 1968. It is more likely the police will stand down to avoid criminal and civil liability with a mayor who does not have their backs.

Let that sink in.

This judge is a political appointment – as in he was not elected – and he somehow presided over all three Trump’-related cases, including Steve Bannon’s. Judges are supposed to be randomly chosen by lottery. With that kind of luck, he’d be a natural in Vegas.

No need to be ashamed of being born in NYC rather be ashamed of what that once great City has become.
I lived there in 1982-83-84 and it was a GREAT City and I loved it heart and soul and it will always be with me as that.
It makes me cry when I see what has become of the Big Apple but I will always remember how it was good to me and how much I loved it.
I arrived from Europe with $27 and the clothes on my back in the mid of Jan, snow on the ground and freezing cold and I didn’t know anybody.
I Love New York City, always will.

The last time I served on a jury in New York City it was the trial of two drug dealing brothers who also tried to murder someone. After the trial was done and we found them guilty, they were miraculously let go. When I inquired into why, I was told that they got their freedom in exchange for an extradition treaty set up between NYC and the Dominican Republic. I was then informed that the defense lawyer had obtained all of the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the jury members and their clients were provided with them. They said this was perfectly legal, as it was public information.
How much do you want to bet that the names and personal information of those jury members on the Trump trial, despite being public information, will be a closely guarded state secret? I’m going to request them anyway. There were two lawyers and one of them served as the jury foreman. Hmmm. Wonder who.
Allan Goldstein says
In the aftermath of 9/11, Americans from fly-over country were entirely helpful in getting NYC back on her feet.
In the years since, the people of NYC have thumbed their noses at fly-over citizens.
I wonder….? If another act of Muslim terrorism were aimed at NYC, would fly-over Americans help get the Big Horse-Apple back on her feet again, or would Atlas shrug?

From both Scott Adams’ and Dan Bongino’s podcasts yesterday (said independently of each other):
SCOTT ADAMS: “I wouldn’t give a penny to New York City.”
DAN BONGINO “I know you feel it. You feel like the country’s different now. I just canceled my plans. I was going to travel to see some family in New York. And I canceled that. I canceled it because you and I both know that going up to New York—or any other liberal state now—that it’s open season on you, too.” (Around the nine-minute mark.)

The Founders chose to establish a Constitutional Republic with a limited central government directly accountable to the peoples representatives rather than a lunatic, “Lord of the Flies”emotional halfway house Democracy. Which allows the most unscrupulous, despotic individuals and groups to corrupt, undermine and destroy the constitutional freedoms and liberties of the majority.
Even in their day the Founders clearly understood from historical absolutes that all democracies eventually transition over time into totalitarian dictatorships of ideologically debased slaves longing for a whip, shackles and a tyrant. Ready and willing to do for the masses what Stonehenge did for rocks.

Dr. Don Rhudy says
Why anyone is surprised at this New York City jury’s verdict, as silly and irrational as it is in itself, is beyond my imagination—but just my imagination. I could not imagine and write a short story like this because things like this happen every day in courtrooms in the United States, especially on the West Coast and in the Northeastern tier of coastal states. “Judged by a jury of your peers” is a fine concept but that is all it is, a concept
When the time comes to select jury members attorneys try to pick a number of ignorant people who can be influenced by a smaller number of smarter people. Attorneys aren’t interested in picking a jury of intelligent, informed, thoughtful, smart people. They want people who can be manipulated because it is their profession and intention to manipulate them. The judge? He wants to get through the trial as fast as possible while looking wise and judicious, in most cases. In some, like this one in New York against Trump, it is the Judge’s intent to convict the man regardless of facts.
What happens inside the jury room once the judge sends them there is just what the attorneys want. In most cases the smarter jurors manipulate the others to arrive at a verdict. In the case of Alvin Bragg and Judge Merchan, and in the case of New York versus Donald Trump, with the exception of Trump’s attorneys, everyone knew in advance what the verdict would be. To make certain Judge Merchan sent clear instructions to the jury several times, and to make doubly certain, two attorneys were selected who could be counted on to make appealing arguments in case there were any stubborn holdouts on the jury—a n event in itself that in other states would cause the verdict to be set aside.
