While the IDF has now devastated Iran’s air defense system, including the four S-300 anti-missile systems that protected Tehran, and destroyed its ballistic missile plants, as well as a top secret nuclear research plant at Parchin, the Trump administration is planning to apply its own financial pressure to bring Iran’s economy to its knees. More on Trump’s plan can be found here: “Trump admin. plans to bankrupt Iran with ‘maximum pressure’ policies – report,” Jerusalem Post, November 16, 2024:
US President-elect Donald Trump’s administration is preparing to reinstate its “maximum pressure” strategy against Iran, targeting Tehran’s economic stability and its ability to support militant proxies and nuclear development, The Financial Times reported on Saturday, citing sources close to the transition team.
The sources revealed that the administration plans to impose stricter sanctions, particularly on Iran’s oil exports, which serve as a critical revenue source.
The anticipated sanctions could drastically reduce Iranian oil exports, which currently exceed 1.5 million barrels per day, up from a low of 400,000 barrels per day in 2020. Experts suggest that these measures would severely impact Iran’s economy. Bob McNally, an energy consultant and former US presidential adviser, indicated that reducing exports to a fraction of current levels would leave Iran in a far worse economic position than during Trump’s first term, Financial Times reported.
According to the report, the renewed strategy aims to bring Iran back to the negotiating table for a comprehensive nuclear deal. According to Trump’s transition team, the approach involves crippling Iran’s financial resources to push its leadership into talks.
However, experts cited in the report expressed skepticism, noting that Tehran is unlikely to agree to what are expected to be stringent US terms. The Financial Times highlighted Trump’s campaign statement regarding Iran in September, saying, “We have to make a deal because the consequences are impossible.”
Not giving in to pressure
Iranian officials have already rejected the possibility of resuming negotiations under coercion. In a statement posted on X/Twitter earlier this week, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that repeating the “maximum pressure” policy would result in failure, as it had during Trump’s first term….
The Iranian reaction to the news of Trump’s renewed campaign of “maximum pressure” was the expected bravado — “we came out stronger from your first campaign” — but in fact the sanctions Trump imposed in his first term proved devastating. And now Trump is planning even more severe sanctions. He aims to cut into Iran’s oil sales, possibly by secondary boycotts of countries that continue to buy Iranian oil, possibly even by an embargo on oil exports from Kharg Island. A decline in oil sales will hurt Iran much more this time, because during Trump’s first term, Iran still had a financial cushion from years of oil sales, but that cushion no longer exists.
The poverty rate in Iran is the highest it has ever been. More than 26 million Iranians now live below the poverty line, representing over 30 percent of the country’s total population. Iran’s GDP went down steadily during Trump’s first administration, reaching its lowest point in 2020. Then, with the sanctions removed by Biden, the GDP has steadily risen. And now, with those even stiffer sanctions about to be imposed, Iran’s GDP will again plummet. Iran’s currency collapse is another sign of Iran’s vulnerability to sanctions. The Iranian rial now stands at 703,000 to the dollar; in 2015, it was 32,000 to the dollar. The Iranian economy, already enduring a steep downturn, will be kicked into the basement after Trump imposes his sanctions designed to impose “maximum pressure.” And as its economy unravels further, how can Iran keep up sending supplies of expensive weapons to Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis?

What the next Trump administration needs to do upon taking office to exert “maximum pressure” is:
First, rescind the executive orders blocking oil and gas exploration, restart the Keystone XL pipeline, and increase permits for drilling. Doing so will bring down the price of oil and natural gas significantly—the United States is a top oil swing producer, and such a move will reduce oil prices such that Iran’s oil revenues will be severely reduced.
Next, take the leash off Israel and the Gulf Arab states to do as they see fit to counter the threat posed by Iran.
Then, cut off all cash flows and ratchet up sanctions.
Finally, address the people of Iran with a message that the United States first, has no quarrel with the people of Iran, but its government; second, that it’s up to the people to change the regime, and we support you; and finally, when you have changed the regime, we welcome you back.

Donald Trump has an excellent idea and plain should and needs to be put into action. Which is that the “US President-elect Trump administration is preparing to reinstate its ‘maximum pressure” strategy against Iran….” For those Muslim despots of Iran hate America and the American people with a spiteful Islamic vicious passion. Likewise, they hate Israel and the Jewish people there citizen with a spiteful Islamic vicious passion.
To put this in another way, those tyrants in people couldn’t even care less about the basic human rights of the Iranian people who are trapped that that horrific Islam regime. So how much less ,if possible, would those fiendish dictators care for or about the human rights of Americans and Israeli’s.
Therefore, Donald Trump, after he becomes President, on 1/20/25 he will do something about those through sanctions. For no longer will no longer have a policy of appeasement towards those hostile anti –America and anti- Israel Muslim despots of that tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran. That vicious cruel malicious “mullah tyranny” of Iran is so completely evil that it murders many young women and even children .This is not beyond the limits of evil of that brutal cruel malicious bloodthirsty tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran.
As a former Muslim who revealed an important reality when he wrote “The Islamic republic of Iran exists and operates as what every fundamentalist dreams of, an Islamic state ruled by sharia …” He further exposes that “What followed its establishment was the inevitable consequence and inexorable logic of its Islamic premise; state terrorism, a merciless tyranny.” [1]
Those two words that author used “merciless tyranny” to describe that vicious cruel brutal oppressive Islamic and murderous Islamic tyrannical regime is both appropriate and fitting. Just look at those brutal horrendous malicious murders by the state Islamic police and of so many Iranian who are justly and rightly protesting the severe human rights abuses cruel oppression of that tyrannical Islamic regime.
Indeed, the tyrants of that horrendously brutal cruel oppressive and murderous Islamic regime of Iran are very guilty and have the blood of many innocent people on their wicked hands.

Good for Donald Trump, because those fiendish despots of Iran should have sanctions reinstated against their wicked Islamic tyranny of Iran. Which acts America and even supplies deadly weapons to its jihad stooge proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, to engage in murderous jihadist attack s against the citizens of the State of Israel.
Furthermore, those dictators of that “mullah regime” are so very despicable evil that they even inflect oppression misery and death on the Iranian people. For that horrendously brutal, cruel oppressive malicious and murderous Islamic regime of Iran, denies the Iranian, people their basic natural human rights.
Therefore, the Iranian people are right and righteous by engaging in bitter and strong protests against those cruel malicious and murderous tyrants in power of that cruel and oppressive Sharia based dictatorship of that Islamic regime of Iran.
In other words, those vicious despots of that horrendously horrific Islamic regime have provoked the people excessively too far.
In addition, some of the people who trapped in and forced to exist in the Islamic dictatorship of Iran might not know about the intellect philosopher John Locke, but his ideas do apply to them. For Mr. Locke taught that any good government has the duty to ensure the security and safety of its citizens. Yet when a tyranny is the people in the tyrannical government do have every natural and ethical right to overthrow that terrible and oppressive tyrannical government.
Liberty says
The Iranian regime has survived through seven full term presidential administrations and is still killing/murdering and spreading global evil. Maybe they will survive an eighth.
I don’t know what the future holds, but there is one thing that I do see and that is the evil Mullahs are survivalists and they don’t give a damn how much evil and misery they inflict on the people of Persia to survive and I don’t see them changing. In fact, the Mullahs have already stated the they would have no problem seeing Iran burned to a cinder as long as Islam survives. The world is dealing with a death cult and I fear for those poor, helpless people living there as well as the citizens of the world. Heaven’s blessings President Trump.
