Why else would the lawyers of the Muslim Boston Marathon bomber want to move the trial to D.C.?
Mocking his lawyers’ own research indicating only a third of Bay State residents believe Dzhokhar Tsarnaev should be executed for last year’s Boston Marathon bombings, federal prosecutors are blasting a push by the defense to move his trial to Washington, D.C. as “just the arguments of a biased hired gun.”
Tsarnaev attorney Judy Clarke first asked the judge in June to move the trial out of Boston. Tsarnaev’s defense team conducted polling in Boston, Springfield, New York and Washington, D.C., and requested that the trial be moved to Washington, D.C., as the venue where the jury is least likely to be biased against Tsarnaev.
So apparently the most sympathetic jury that an Islamic terrorist could find is in our nation’s capital? Were they hoping to get Obama to sit on it?
President Obama pledged that the United States would punish anyone responsible for the explosions at the Boston Marathon today, but he said that “people shouldn’t jump to conclusions” about the tragedy.
“We still do not know who did this or why and people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before they have all the facts,” Obama told reporters.
Maybe he’s still willing to give a Chechen terrorist the presumption of innocence.
