So the UNC Daily Tar Heel responded to David Horowitz’s appearance on campus by calling for preventing him… and Mitt Romney from appearing on campus… to protect free speech.

“UNC’s College Republicans and Duke should not lend the pageantry and platforms they did to speakers such as Horowitz and Romney,” the Daily Tar Heel wrote.
“Horowitz’s appearance is also an example of college campuses lending their gravitas to speakers who offer little intellectual heft to back up their cultural prominence.
Just last week, Duke University invited former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to speak about President Obama’s foreign policy despite Romney’s lack of practical or academic experience in the subject.
Romney, while likely briefed extensively about national security issues during his campaign for president, did not match that preparation with a nuanced discussion of national security policy, instead employing charged partisan rhetoric.”
I’m sorry. The man who almost became president has nothing to offer to a discussion of foreign policy. Really?
David Horowitz has little “intellectual heft”. Somehow if he were on the left today, no one would be questioning his intellectual heft. And if Mitt Romney had shown up to criticize the foreign policy of George W. Bush, no one would be complaining that he’s unqualified.
If a presidential candidate is not an acceptable speaker, then no one to the right of Obama is. It’s that simple. This is a call for mass censorship employing a standard that the other side is not held to.
But this farce was almost sensible compared to the #NotSafeUNC in which Muslim students responded to David Horowitz’s appearance by complaining that they were forced to take their exams.
No, this really happened.

UNC Muslims incessantly whined about the Chapel Hill shootings in which 3 Muslims were shot over a parking dispute. If white or black students got exempted from exams every time there was a shooting involving white or black people… there would be no exams.
Ever.
In relationship I felt was abusive & my professor said always two sides to the story, I’ll get over it #notsafeunc http://t.co/cXKOpblCM1

That was probably Mitt Romney’s fault.
I try to leave campus before it gets dark because I don’t feel safe walking home alone at night. #NotSafeUNC

Definitely Mitt Romney’s fault.
In light of the #NotSafeUNC campaign, I gotta ask – do any students actually learn anything in US colleges anymore??

If you want to see a bunch of thin skinned idiot fascists check out the #NotSafeUNC thread it make me glad I never wasted $100,000on college

Actually it seems to be like 4 or 5 people with most of the remaining tweets coming from NYC activist Linda Sarsour.
Social Justice Warriors divide their time equally between playing the victim and then using their victimhood to victimize others. We have people from groups that support the murder of Jews whining that they feel unsafe on campus because of dissenting views.
