How far we have come for the rights of women in America! Exactly how far is clear from a story out of Utah, where one of the denizens of the new multicultural paradise that the Left has so graciously bestowed upon us demonstrated his profound appreciation for the wisdom of his non-American, non-Christian ancestors by expressing his internalization of their beliefs, assumptions and mores: when his girlfriend dared to be so independent as to go to a party without him, he unhesitatingly and robustly reminded her of her place and her obligations by shooting her in the femur. No, this is not your father’s Mormon refuge.
Salt Lake City’s KSL.com reported Tuesday that Fahd Mahdi, an eighteen-year old Muslim who has been living in South Jordan, Utah, has been charged with “discharge of a firearm causing serious injury, a first-degree felony” over hobbling his presumably ex-girlfriend with a gunshot wound to the femur. It all began around 2:30 in the morning on August 6, when “Salt Lake police were called to local hospital where a 17-year-old girl was being treated for a gunshot wound to her leg.” The unfortunate girl explained to the doubtless dumbfounded cops that “she was going to attend a party without her boyfriend, Mahdi, which upset him.” The suave Mahdi then “allegedly told the teen that ‘if she went without him there would be trouble.’”
Heedless of this warning, the girl went on to the part alone, but ever the solicitous suitor, he turned up at the party himself later, and demanded, apparently through text messages, that she immediately seek him out and come to him. When she did, however, he was slightly less than conciliatory: he “threatened to hurt her and told her that he was not afraid to punch her in front of everyone.” Later on that evening, as his still-heedless girlfriend “was sitting in the back seat of a friend’s car, suddenly her ardent boyfriend “knelt next to her.”
The girl, according to the charge sheet in the case, “stated that Mahdi displayed a pistol, and she asked him if he had taken pictures with the gun.” Then she “reported that her ears started to ring, and she realized that she had been shot in the leg by Mahdi.” She “underwent surgery for a broken femur,” and KSL adds that the young gunslinger “was arrested at his home in South Jordan.” The New York Post, however, contradicts this, stating without explanation that the victim “immediately identified Mahdi as her assailant when Salt Lake police were called to the suspicious scene at around 2:30 a.m.” Nevertheless, although Mahdi “was taken into custody on suspicion of felony discharge of a firearm, but wasn’t arrested for another week.”
If what the Post says is accurate, it’s extraordinarily strange. If she was shot in the leg and immediately identified Mahdi as the shooter, why wasn’t he arrested for another week? Were Utah authorities afraid of appearing to be “Islamophobic”?
Whatever the explanation for that may be, KSL adds that the girl “reported a history of abuse between her and the defendant. The victim described their relationship as violent and abusive. She stated that (he) is very possessive of her and treats her like she is his property. The victim further stated that (Mahdi) is physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive toward her.”
There is domestic violence in all cultures, but only in one does it have divine sanction. The Qur’an teaches that men are superior to women and should beat those from whom they “fear disobedience”: “Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” (Qur’an 4:34)
Muhammad’s child bride, Aisha, says in a hadith that Muhammad “struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: ‘Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?’” (Sahih Muslim 2127) Another hadith states: “Rifa‘a divorced his wife whereupon AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah’s Messenger came, Aisha said, ‘I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is greener than her clothes!’” (Sahih Bukhari 7.77.5825)
If Fahd Mahdi had imbibed such attitudes, and it looks as if he had, then he would likely have considered himself to be completely justified in shooting his girlfriend in the leg. This is a new dimension of domestic violence, and a completely unforeseen byproduct of the Left’s multiculturalism. Will there now be a national discussion of the status of women in Islam and its implications for immigration and law enforcement policies? Come on, man! The Biden regime would sooner endorse Donald Trump for reelection to the presidency.
I hope Fahd ends up in a cell with some Aryan Brotherhood types, if they have them in the Utah penal system.
Lock him up and throw away the Key
Is there a list of punishments in Islam? Go to a party alone, get shot in the leg. (he could have shot off her pinky toe) Listen to the wrong music, cut off an ear. Etc. What else?
Thanks Barack, you gay Muslim P.O.S.
So, then, what you’re telling me is that Islam ISN’T “the religion of peace?” I’m simply shocked. We are daily being mind-effed by our institutions. Delusions never make good bases for policies, as we are seeing daily.
.”..and a completely unforeseen byproduct of the Left’s multiculturalism.”
Not true. For any thinking person, it was a completely predictable and logical consequence of the left’s multiculturalism. So predictable in fact, that it is not an unfortunate collateral effect but a goal. It leads to further division, which has always been a goal of the ‘diversity’ movement. DEI- Divide, Exclude, Insult is about dividing the public into as many factions as possible which can then be manipulated/exploited for political purposes. And, a public far less likely to be able to unite and become a threat to the governing class.
A pro-Islam leftist’s take on it goes something like this: At least he shot her in the leg and not in the head.
His aim was bad
Are we to feel sorry for an Infidel woman who would date a 7th century, barbarian? What did she expect?
We don’t want Open Borders and We don’t want anymore Bridges and we don’t need the UN anymore lets move them to Moscow we can turn the UN facility into Homeless Shelter
Interesting….we watch the local TV news from Salt Lake City. I remember the shooting incident, but I have to read Mr. Spencer’s column to get the REST of the story. Just more censorship from the media.
The Merkelization of America will require decades of incarcerations and deportations and a return to the values of the Founders.
South Jordan, Utah? What a wonderful American name for an American city…in Utah. I momentarily lost my train of thought while reading the story and when I read that the Muslim was later arrested by police at his home in South Jordan, for a moment I had this vision of American police from Utah going to the Middle East to make an arrest, a little out of their jurisdiction.
That name is almost as bad as Palestine, Ohio.
Do not deal with moslems in any way shape or form
Under sharia law her “crime” is punishable by death
Im guessing she didn’t know much about her boyfriends religion or was she rebelling against her own religion in order to make a statement against her parents, either way she learned the hard way and I hope her girlfriends take note.
Date a muslim guy, get a muslim guys values.
It aint rocket science..
Hand that wee lassie a copy of the quran.
