The media can’t stop churning out fake news.
Here’s a simple example of the media deliberately sensationalizing and misrepresenting a light moment during AG Matthew Whitaker’s appearance before the House Judiciary Committee.
We’ll start with the fakest fake news first.
Matthew Whitaker Hearing Goes Off The Rails After He Chastises Chairman – Huffington Post
Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker’s House Judiciary Committee testimony took a turn Friday morning when he attempted to halt chairman Rep. Jerrold Nadler’s (D-N.Y.) line of questioning.
Asked whether he had ever been asked to approve any request or action by the office of special counsel Robert Mueller, Whitaker refused to answer.
“Mr. Chairman, I see that your five minutes are up,” he responded instead.
Audible gasps as Matthew Whitaker clashes with chairman – CNN
There’s similar nonsense from the Washington Post and other lefty clickbait social justice outlets.
Forget the politics though. All you have to do is watch the video.
Matthew Whitaker cracks a joke, deadpan, that breaks up a tense moment. The five minute line is greeted with laughter, rather than shock. Rep. Nadler is laughing, rather than outraged. The “five minute rule” isn’t taken seriously by anyone. Whitaker is referencing that reality. It’s a Washington D.C. insider joke. It’s not a big moment. But the media has to do its fake news thing. That’s how it makes its money.
