The media (and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez) are desperately spinning the 23 Republican votes against the sham Dem bigotry cover-up resolution as an endorsement of bigotry.
Nope.
The Jewish and non-Jewish Republican House members made it abundantly clear that they were voting against it because it failed to condemn Rep. Omar’s anti-Semitism.
Not only weren’t Rep. Omar’s anti-Semitic comments mentioned in the resolution, but Omar voted for it.
There can be no surer sign that the resolution was a sham and a scam. What began as an effort to condemn one Dem politician’s anti-Semitic comments morphed into a cover-up so vague and shapeless that its original target voted for it.
Voting against the resolution sent a clear message that covering up anti-Semitism is not acceptable. Voting for it was an effort to cover up anti-Semitism.
You don’t fight bigotry by covering it up.
