Unsurprising.
Warnock is, despite all the attempts at putting lipstick on a pig, a bigot who follows an extremist theology. He was sent out there to defend Jeremiah Wright, a former black Muslim, turned black nationalist preacher, who is a big fan of Farrakhan. It should come as no surprise that Warnock is also a Nation of Islam fan.
Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Rev. Raphael Warnock referred to the Nation of Islam as an “important” voice for African Americans during a 2013 speech in which he was comparing the Black power religion’s numbers to “mainline Protestantism.”
“Its voice has been important for the development of Black theology,” Warnock said, referring to an ideology developed by Black preachers during the Civil Rights era to combat White supremacy within Christianity.
“It was the Black Muslims who challenged Black preachers and said, ‘you’re promulgating … the White man’s religion. That’s a slave religion. You’re telling people to focus on heaven, meanwhile, they’re catching hell,’” Warnock said.
The reverend said the Nation of Islam was necessary to “put a fire” under Black preachers and keep them “honest” about the message coming from their pulpits.
A helpful reminder that Warnock doesn’t just hate Israel. He supports a blatantly racist and antisemitic hate group.
But anyone still surprised by that just needs to take a look at his mentor.
Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Rev. Raphael Warnock has praised his religious mentor, Dr. James Hal Cone, as a “poignant and powerful voice” of high “spiritual magnitude.”
Cone, however, was a controversial theologian who argued that white Christians are “satanic” and advocated for the “destruction of everything white” in society.
“There will be no peace in America until white people begin to hate their whiteness, asking from the depths of their being: ‘How can we become black?'” Cone wrote.
Cone is writing of “negro hatred of white people” not being in the least “pathological,” but a “healthy human reaction to oppression, insult, and terror.”
“To be Christian is to be one of those whom God has chosen. God has chosen black people!”
“If God is white, kill God.”
The Democrats claim that they’re moderate. This is the “moderate” candidate they’re getting behind.
