If only Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren lived in an enlightened socialist society that preached unselfish dedication to a larger cause. Instead, capitalism has sadly twisted these two socialist heroes into its own selfish ethos.
First, Warren accused Sanders of telling her that women can’t win. Sanders supporters called her a snake. Warren dropped out and refused to endorse Sanders. Now, as she competes to be Biden’s veep, Sanders won’t support her efforts.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has thus far not encouraged former Vice President Joe Biden’s team to consider Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) as his running mate despite his longstanding ideological alliance with the Massachusetts senator.
Three people familiar with Sanders’s conversations with Biden, whom the Vermont lawmaker has endorsed, told The Washington Post that Sanders has declined to back some liberals’ efforts to convince the former vice president to select Warren as his No. 2.
These socialists are all about the cause. Witness the noble sacrifice, the heroic effort to set aside personal agendas.
If Biden picks Warren and he wins, she’s likely to end up as POTUS. That means some 60% to 70% of Bernie’s agenda moves forward. Including full socialized medicine. Does Bernie care about that? No, he’s focused on writing the party platform as if this were the Port Huron Statement.
Bernie and Warren could have teamed up. Instead they’re determined that neither of them will win.
If only they lived in an enlightened unselfish socialist society.
