Rabble-Rousing Reverends
In a sermon live-streamed to YouTube on Super Bowl Sunday, Dr. Steve Caudle of Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church in Chattanooga apparently called for violence against Elon Musk, whom he falsely accused of threatening to “steal” Americans’ personal information and social security checks.
Misinformation and violent rhetoric about DOGE is spilling out into pulpits across the nation:

Caudle said from his pulpit, “I pray that the peace of God will win out and overcome the madness that is attempting to take over this nation.” Allow me to point out that God already did overcome the madness taking over this nation when He granted Donald Trump victory in November. Since he has taken office, Trump has done more to reverse the madness of the previous administration than anyone ever thought possible.
Caudle went on to say that “no one likes violence, but sometimes violence is necessary. When Elon Musk forces his way into the United States Treasury, and threatens to steal your personal information and your social security check, there is a possibility of violence,” the reverend declared. “Sometimes the devil will act so ugly, that there is no other choice but to get violent and fight!”
No argument with that last line, but Elon Musk is hardly “the devil” acting so ugly that violence is necessary. He and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are rooting out bureaucratic corruption and profligate waste – something all Americans should support. Need I point out that Musk is the world’s richest man and has no use for your personal information or your social security check? Caudle needs to reread the part of the Bible about it being a sin to bear false witness, and preachers need to stop urging their congregations to wage violence against their political opponents.
Pontificating Popes
Open-borders enthusiast Pope Francis, protected by the elite Swiss Guard behind the Vatican’s 39-foot walls that were originally built to repel invaders, issued an open letter to America’s bishops on Tuesday blasting President Trump’s crackdown on illegal alien felons.
Having last month called Trump’s deportation plan a “disgrace” and having called Trump “not Christian” back in 2016 for his views on illegal immigration, the Pope now calls the roundup of rapists, gang members, and murderers here illegally a “major crisis” for the U.S.
While paying lip service to a nation’s right to “defend itself and keep communities safe from those who have committed violent or serious crimes,” Francis exhorted “all the faithful of the Catholic Church… not to give in to narratives that discriminate against and cause unnecessary suffering to our migrant and refugee brothers and sisters.”
There is no “discriminatory narrative” or “unnecessary suffering.” The United States is simply and finally enforcing immigration law and removing from our shores criminals and felons who are not in this country legally. We are not discriminating against anyone (unless you count lawbreakers) or “damaging the dignity,” as Francis misleadingly put it, “of many men and women, and of entire families.” A nation must have law and order or it will collapse, in which case there will truly be “unnecessary suffering” on a vast scale. But honestly speaking, the current Pope is a globalist elitist who rejects the idea of the nation-state and is actively undermining the sovereignty and stability of what remains of the civilization once known as Christendom. He even threatened darkly that Trump’s deportations “will end badly.”
In his letter, Pope Francis also took a swipe at Vice President JD Vance’s defense of the deportations. Vance, who is Catholic, referred in a January social media post to an Augustinian theological concept known as the ordo amoris, or “rightly ordered love,” a sort of natural hierarchy of obligations and charity in which the needs of, say, family members rank higher than those of illegal aliens.
Pope Francis wrote, “The true ‘ordo amoris’ that must be promoted (is) … by meditating on the love that builds a fraternity open to all, without exception.” This is theologically questionable and socially irrational. Yes, Christians are called to love even our enemies, and the parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us to care for those in need even outside our “tribe,” but as Catholic philosopher Edward Feser writes, to argue that we are to show complete strangers the same regard as our spouses and children or even our neighbors is a “product of liberalism’s radical individualism.”
St. Augustine and Vance got it right; the open-borders Pope got it wrong.
Make Super Bowls Great Again
On a final note, as long as Trump and Vance are making America great again virtually overnight, perhaps they can make Super Bowls great again too, because the half-time performance by rapper Kendrick Lamar in last Sunday’s game is being roundly slammed as the worst in the Super Bowl’s 59-game history.
If your biggest hit (“Not Like Us”) is notable only for “dissing” a rival rapper (Drake) as a pedophile, and is indistinguishable from every other song in your playlist, then you don’t have much to offer a broad audience of football fans, much less to musical posterity. Filling the field with hip-hop dancers is no compensation for unintelligible lyrics, songs (and since this is rap we’re talking about, I’m using the term very, very loosely) that nearly no one in the stadium or viewing audience at home can recognize or identify with, and an utter absence of performer charisma.
It’s a shame that Lamar (pictured above), whom no one in the country could identify in a lineup of other rappers, gets to perform in the same event as genuine superstar talents with crossover appeal like Prince, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, U2, the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Al Hirt, Ella Fitzgerald, and others who have performed through the decades.
Make the Super Bowl great again. Bring back the Grambling State University Marching Band.

As long as Roger Goodell is the NFL Commie-ishioner nothing is going to change, especially with the uber woke Super Bowel Movement.
Good one! And who wants to watch a one hour game that lasts four hours, especially a halftime show that could destroy half of your brain.
Where I live the game started at 4:30. It went until about 9:00 PM including the after game presentations. 20 minutes could have been cut by not having a 45 minute half time.
I spent half time cleaning one of my rifles. So I was productive. Monday morning I cleaned the bolt and put it back in the rifle. Still productive. It is now range ready.
It’s amazing how nobody is talking about the game so soon after. I started noticing that a few years back re: the World Series and the Super Bowl. Back in the day talk would go on for at least a few days after the win. I guess there is sports talk radio which I don’t care for
Yeah, less and less people care about sports championships, even the once insanely popular Super Bowel movement. I’m still laughing over that one. What did the NFL morons like Roger Goodelll think was going to happen with an all “woke” league, 4 1/2 hour games and halftime shows that only appeal to the gutter segment of American society?
The gravy train is grinding to a halt and the free loaders are hysterical. Me thinks they protest too much to not be guilty of something. Today Elon Musk, next to a bemused President Trump in the oval office, calmly and succinctly spelled out the grift on the American taxpayer that’s been..Meanwhile, unelected judges and the parasites dining on the body politic don’t like the prescription and sing off-key to a dwindling constituency in laughable protests. Full of sound a fury, signifying nothing.

There sure seems to be a lot of obnoxious morons behind pulpits and on stages nowadays. They seem to be quite stupid, too.
I wonder if Old Man Caudle will be out there mixing it up in the streets with the MAGA crowd. I can hear it now….”Oh my knees, my hips, my shoulders. Sorry guys. I have to rest for a while.”
He seems to be more of a fat, big mouthed politician than a pastor.
Somebody had to pick up the Rev Jeremiah Wright’s mantle now that he’s faded into oblivion
He’s almost as bad that fake Bishop dyke who slandered President Trump with reverse reality lies. And it’s a little known fact that Episcopalian leaders are rabid Jew haters and apologists for Satanic Islam and its demons.
POTUS should arrange w/Meloni the transfer of illegal aliens in the USA to Vatican City.
Thoroughly depressing watching the halftime display of decadence, vulgarity, and meaninglessness all wrapped up in red, white, and blue to make it matter (it still didn’t). If this is what the future holds, it’s frightful.
I get the feeling Jay-Z has something on Goodell. Did he play the race card?
““Sometimes the devil will act so ugly, that there is no other choice but to get violent and fight!””
Really? Is an apologist for the devil a proper role for a so called reverend? I don’t think he knows what side he’s on.
Our Marxist pope shouldn’t be questioning anyone’s Christianity, he’s not much of one himself.
We have neglected the old wisdom of thinking in categories from which the Ordo Amoris springs. Our affections (“loves”) have four “orders” or categories, arising from the relationship of lover and object. MUCH of woke Christian teaching eisegetes “love of neighbor” to mean a person halfway across the world or a foreign invader — and this love of the “stranger” has equality or even precedence over one’s own family and community!
In order to align our moral and political life better, we must not only restore the Ordo Amoris, but also the “Four Causes” to answer foundational “why questions.”
Categorical thinking could be taught in rudimentary form in late elementary school, and then repeated throughout the secondary school years in greater detail. This is already being done in some classical schools. There is no reason it could not return to public education. If we cannot think in proper categories, then we will not make good sense of the world. And our political leaders should not be elected if they are unable or unwilling to do so.
