First up, Governor Murphy of New Jersey was caught dining-in. The grandma-killer claimed that he had been taking refuge from a downpour. And Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago, who had already been caught getting a haircut, headed off to Maine for a family vacation.
Of course this sort of hypocrisy is typical of lockdown Democrats, as I documented back in June.
Governor J.B. Pritzker’s wife and daughter enjoyed the lockdown far from Illinois on their equestrian estate near Palm Beach, and then headed to the 230-acre horse farm in Wisconsin that the Illinois boss had bought his wife as an anniversary present. After claiming that his family deserved privacy and was being endangered by reports of his hypocrisy, the billionaire contended that their travel was essential.
Not only was it essential for Pritzker’s family to vacation on one massive horse ranch and then another, but it was essential for Illinois workers to travel to Wisconsin to help build a huge home on the ranch. Local residents reported 20 to 30 trucks a day coming from Chicago to labor on this essential project.
“They’re operating an essential function. Construction is an essential function,” Pritzker whined.
Virginia’s Governor Northam who didn’t wear a mask to the beach before ordering everyone to wear masks. New Mexico’s Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham who told non-essential businesses they had to shut down and then had a non-essential business open up so she could get some expensive jewelry.
Michigan’s Governor Whitmer had issued orders banning just about everything. And then a marina operator got a call from her husband about getting their boat in the water for Memorial Day.
“I am the husband to the governor; will this make a difference?” Whitmer’s husband asked.
So now Speaker Pelosi got caught Lightfooting.
A trip to a San Francisco salon has turned into a controversy for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi whose office tells KTVU she didn’t think she did anything wrong by getting her hair done indoors on Monday .
Security footage, reported on FOX News, showed Pelosi with wet hair and without a mask inside of eSalon in apparent defiance of COVID-19 rules.
In San Francisco, face coverings are mandatory in most public settings. Salons may only cut hair outdoors under new rules that took effect today.
On Tuesday afternoon, eSalon appeared to be closed. KTVU has not yet reached the salon owner.
But according to FOX News, owner Erica Kious said that Pelosi had an appointment with a stylist who rents space in the Union Street salon.
“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work,” Kious reportedly said about Pelosi..
The stylist washed Pelosi’s hair and gave her a blow dry, Kious said.
Does this actually surprise anyone? Most politicians you see on TV don’t look like they’re cutting their own hair.
We’re not all in this together. We never were. The more that lie is repeated, the angrier people get. Fortunately the media is always there to drag out their “Republicans pounce” spin.
Conservatives pounced, casting Pelosi as a hypocrite.
“Speaker Pelosi has pushed policies that would keep our economy closed and our small businesses shut down. But for herself?” Senate Republicans tweeted. “A salon visit whenever she pleases.”
Fact check: accurate.
