A ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon appeared imminent on Tuesday afternoon. While numerous mainstream analysts, as clueless as ever, hailed it as the first step toward reducing tensions and establishing a lasting peace in the region, others were not so sanguine.
For over a year now and against enormous international pressure, Israel has been vowing to fight on until Hamas and Hezbollah were completely destroyed. Now it is apparently about to agree to a ceasefire that could allow Hezbollah to survive and murder more Israeli civilians on another day. What is going on? Two words, as Joe Biden would say, and those words are the man’s name himself: Old Joe Biden.
Former Israel Defense Forces intelligence officer Sarit Zahavi explained what was at stake: “But the gap lies with the question of whether Hezbollah will be able to recover or not. After what happened on October 7th, Israelis are not willing to enable Hezbollah to recover. This is not going to happen anymore. We are not going to enable that. While I am speaking to you, there are alerts proving that Hezbollah still has the capabilities to launch rockets and missiles against Israel. We cannot rely on just promises. We need to make sure that Hezbollah is not capable of threatening us and our families over here in the north.” Yet the ceasefire, at least as it is being reported, would allow Hezbollah to do just that.
CBS News reported Tuesday that “under the deal, a full and permanent ceasefire would be implemented immediately. There will be 60 days permitted for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces — a gradual withdrawal to allow the Lebanese forces to mobilize and move in to secure the area, but the trigger time is immediate, set to take effect later Tuesday.
The first peel-off of Israeli troops was to begin within the next 10 days.” As Israeli forces withdraw from Lebanon, “Hezbollah is expected to pull its forces and heavy weapons back about 20 miles from the Israeli border, to the Litani River.”
Now, this is problematic on its face. United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 of August 2006 stipulated that Hezbollah was to withdraw its forces south of the Litani River. Yet that Resolution was never enforced, and Hezbollah never withdrew its forces. This time will supposedly be different.
CBS News noted that “under the proposed deal, Lebanese forces and United Nations peacekeepers are expected to jointly patrol southern Lebanon to ensure the terms of the agreement are adhered to. Earlier reports suggested the southern region would be monitored by a multi-nation committee, which would include both the U.S. and France.” Yet the UN has had troops in southern Lebanon since 2006, and yet has never compelled Hezbollah to abide by Resolution 1701. It’s hard to see how they’re going to do so now.
Israel’s Internal Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was not hopeful, saying: “An agreement with Lebanon is a big mistake. A historic missed opportunity to eradicate Hezbollah. I understand all the constraints and reasons, and it is still a grave mistake.”
So what happened? Why is Israel agreeing to this now? Alex Traiman of JNS News explained that it all came down to a threat from the Biden regime: if Israel didn’t agree to a ceasefire now, the U.S. would continue to refuse to ship needed arms to Israel, and would abstain on another UN resolution condemning Israel and hamstringing its ability to act.
“Nobody knows exactly why,” said Traiman, “when the Biden administration is so close to leaving office, why the pressure has finally gotten to Netanyahu. What is it that the Biden administration is threatening Israel with, aside from, potentially allowing a UN Security Council resolution against Israel to pass in the coming weeks? And we don’t know what the UN security resolution could look like at this stage. But apparently, the threats are grave enough that Netanyahu is taking them very seriously.”
The saving grace for Netanyahu is that if Israel can just make it to Jan. 20, President Trump will presumably lift the pressure, despite his desire for a quick end to the war, and allow Israel to finish the job. So the Israeli prime minister had to choose between being handcuffed by the Biden regime’s withholding of weaponry and a new round of international condemnations, or handcuffed by the ceasefire for a few weeks. He appears to have chosen the latter. Supporters of free societies worldwide are united in the hope that he has made the right decision.

Apparently, Hezbollah is not part of the ceasefire agreement. Hezbollah has agreed to nothing – at least not in public. But judging from the few violations of the ceasefire that have already taken place and Israel’s willingness to respond to them, Hezbollah only has to abide by restrictions that someone else imposes upon them. That Israel responded to violations is not a good sign. No one else stepped in to arrest the interlopers. If that pattern continues, the fog will have lifted from the sham agreement and it will turn out only to apply to Israel and no other faction.

Well obviously. Israel will be swimming in arms after Jan 20th. Who cares what this desiccated Old Turd threatens Israel with.

Biden uses threats as he did back in 2019 as Vice President with a major Ukraine loan agreement package of 1 billon he held up until Ukraine got rid of a prosecutor he did not like and Biden secured getting his son, Hunter, on the board of the Burisma Holding Company.
Biden is nothing more than a political grifter with NO ALLEGIENCE to anyone without profiting himself. Who knows what BS he’s done.
Netanyahu must be well aware of this despicable man and however deplorable it’s very likely he’s walking on a tightrope until Trump is inaugurated in January.
For Israel and our Jewish people it, wreaks of yet another capitulation but if he gets the arms needed to fight another day he’ll do what is necessary.
All the more reasons for Israel to crush the Left within the country and their endless deference to both Hamas and Hezbollah. We’re still living with this existential threat, and we’ve lost too many lives to give these psychopaths anything they want.
Netanyahu is between a rock and a hard place put there by decades of appeasement strategies by incompetent leftists resulting in this war.
He must feel horrible right now but great leaders often have to make very difficult decisions. May G-d Almighty be with him and our Nation of Israel.

Maybe after withdrawal of forces, Hezbollah will break the ceasefire
and Israel would then be justified in resuming attempts to destroy
Hezbollah once and for all. In the meantime, that crud Biden will
resume arms shipments to Israel. Maybe that’s the way Prime
Minister Netanyahu is looking at it.

No “maybe” about it.

Past being prologue, it’s not a matter of if but when Hezbollah violates the cease fire. Muslims don’t even keep to agreements made amongst their own kind. Why would any sane and rational person expect them to keep to an agreement made with people who are not “their kind”? That kind of naivety gets people “murdered” (muslims terrorists aren’t killers, they’re fiendishly savage cold-blooded murderers!)

They’ve already violated it twice since yesterday.

They’re like monkeys in a zoo who sh*t in their hands and throw it at people out of anger and frustration.. Launching missiles into Israel is the equivalent of them sh*tting in their hands and throwing their poo at Israel. Miserable poor dumb primitive bastards.
Considering the remarkable restraint Israel has shown, they should count their blessings and be grateful that Israel haven’t yet vaporized them all.

Yes, exactly. Just as we knew they would. Islamopithecines are scum and always behave as scum.

Biden is a mere puppet of the Great Narcissist Islamist marxist Barack Hussein Osama, who has always sought as his mainforeign policy goals a Nuclear Iran and the destruction of Israel, which he hates even more than he hates America.
cat says
Yes, I agree, it is Barack Hussein Obama and his childish, but dangerous, hatreds. I think his hatred reflects his character (or mental illness, if you will) and that of those around him. He wants to “smite those Jooz.”
We should never have had an empty suit with a Hitlerian hate fetish in office. That he never left DC and appeared to run the country throughout the Biden administration, after a very suspicious 2020 election, only underlines that he should have never been a president or in any role consquential to our nation, its safety and its morals.

I remember when that POS dissed “small town, blue collar whites who’ve turned to G-d and Guns out of bitterness”, described the Fort Hood Massacre by a Palestinian doctor as “workplace violence” (which parenthetically denied benefits to survivors they would have received if it had been accurately defined as a terrorist attack) and got a Nobel Peace Prize for nothing of substance (unless you count his world apology tour). During Bibi Netanyahu’s first Washington visit during Jug Ears’ presidency, the smug virtue signaler got up without saying a word and left Netanyahu alone in a room for 90 minutes while he dined with Big Mike and the girls. I’m sure that if the full extent of his treachery, antisemitism and anti-Americanism were known (there are events like his friendly meeting with Louis Farrakhan which was covered up until after his presidency formally ended) he’d be in Guantanamo with his Al Qaeda comrades.
Josiah says
Exactly right Steve. The first order of business after Jan 20 is to arrest him and put him in thumb screws.

“United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701”
Apparently UN “Resolutions” are created to use “for” one side and “against” the other side.
What Biden has done is only interference that creates more problems, not solve any. Refusing to send arms to Israel is giving what Hezbollah sees as a gift from Allah. Hezbollah gets their arms from Iran, so what Biden did became their heavenly assist in the conflict. The effect might even be, to attract more Hezbollah fighters to “Allah’s Cause”.
In the future when some high placed Government official screws up monumentally, will it be called, “Pulling a Biden”?
BLSinSC says
Now the biden bunglers can say they “brought peace” to the middle East! And how long did it take for the hezzies to VIOLATE their “agreement”? I doubt the ink was dry before movements were made! Here’s where they are so sadly mistaken – Israel is not the current version of the US where they would simply say “we’re holding up our end of the agreement” while the hezzies prepare for another round of terrorism! No, the Israelis have made it clear that they will respond – forcefully – to any violations of the “cease” fire!
Wouldn’t it be great if we changed OUR Gov’t to have the ELECTED PRESIDENT take control IMMEDIATELY? Why give the outgoing gangs free rein to misuse Our Nation? The PRESIDENT ELECT should have to sign off on any movements by the ousted one! Would work both ways!

I think Obama still has a few unresolved mommy & daddy issues and has probably never gotten over the trauma of being repeatedly diddled & r*ped by his mentor Frank Marshall Davis.
Obama has done more for the LGBTQ and trannie community than any president before him or since. I suspect that what I said above has a lot to do with it.

When President Nixon left office, he said in so many words, “You won’t have me to kick around anymore.” One day, when God resumes His program with Israel, Israel absolutely will not be kicked around any more.
Zechariah 2:8 “For thus saith the LORD of hosts…he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.”
The story of Balaam and Balak is astonishing. Though Israel deserved to be severely reprimanded for their disobedience to God (and they were), even cursed, as Balaam was pleaded with to do, Balaam responded thus regarding cursing Israel:
Numbers 23:20-21 “I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him…”
God, one day, after the conclusion of this dispensation of grace, will avenge the mistreatment of Israel. And they will be the head of all nations.
Malachi 3:12 “…all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Well, the church the body of Christ is still here as far as I know, so I’m not sure about that. And some in the circle I align with think there’s a gap of time between the removal of the church and when things really get going, so to speak.
In that gap the god of this world orchestrates some wars to reduce any unnecessary allies, and the temple is destroyed and then rebuilt. Anyway, everything is going to take place in the middle east and north Africa having a part. Rome, the USSR, China, the USA, etc. little to no real serious involvement, as I understand and believe those prophetic details.

This is a faux ceasefire. Netanyahu is playing out the clock on the malevolent Biden regime, the most treacherous and anti-Semitic administration in American history.
The ceasefire agreement officially ends as President Trump assumes office. The weapons will flow, Iran will be back under sanctions, and the world will know America stands with Israel not Iran.
The odious stench of the Obama/Biden heinous foreign policy will begin to dissipate.
The manner in which they treated Israel and the Jew people will never dissipate. We Jews have a long memory and so does God.

What’s disappointing and puzzling here, and in other similar articles, is that it seems Jews who comment and express concern about Israel’s state, hardly bring up Jehovah. I don’t think I’ve seen that, much at all. Where is there any mention of a direct appeal to the God of Israel? Is it only being done by the ultra-orthodox? One commenter here,Gabrielle, Jewish I’m assuming, said:
“For Israel and our Jewish people it, wreaks of yet another capitulation…We’re still living with this existential threat, and we’ve lost too many lives…May G-d Almighty be with him and our Nation of Israel.”
Are not Jews reminding each other and even trying to remind their leaders what their king Asa did?
2 Chronicles 14:11-12 “And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.”
Is Israel doing this? Are their leaders doing this? Does Israel need to consider King Josiah’s example?
2 Kings 22:11,13 “And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.”
Israel’s life and well being, at least in the O.T., has to do, solely, with their relationship with God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
What’s happened with Israel’s relationship with God? Anything? I’m sure some are asking these questions. The answer is not that these are separate issues or questions. With Israel, in the O.T. at least, their political and “religious” life are inseparably linked.
Jonathan S. says
I’ve pointed out in my prior comments on this subject that the Biden Administration along with some of its Western NATO partners (not the Eastern European NATO members) have threatened an arms embargo or have already placed an arms embargo on Israel in order to pressure on the Israeli government to accept a useless ceasefire with genocidal Muslim terrorists. Yet all these same players not only gleefully ship weapons to Ukraine, they do so with the understanding that the Ukrainians use them! There’s never been any pressure from the Western powers to push Ukraine to accept a ceasefire deal with Russia. The hypocrisy is deafening!
