Last week, I spoke to AFSI about what Israel can expect in the Biden era.
Among the points I made was that…
1. The crises in Taiwan, the Ukraine, and Israel are related. And the Biden administration is following the same policy of appeasement, trying to project the appearance of strength to protect its own image while pressuring the countries threatened by aggression behind the scenes.
2. The U.S. foreign policy approach has been to seek regional stability, often with destructive forms of appeasement that have enabled the rise of Islamists, whether of the old Arab oil kingdoms like the Saudis under the GOP or the new Islamist blocs by the Democrats, while Israel actually benefits from regional instability which can create new alliances and opportunities.
3. The State Department’s Iran strategy sees Israel as being as dangerous as Iran, and its various pretenses at addressing the nuclear threat posed by Iran have really been efforts to keep Israel from carrying out a strike against Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
