The media buries its audience in reports about what a jerk Trump is. Meanwhile to find reports like these about Bernie Sanders, you have to dig hard. The media has created a cult of personality for Sanders by portraying him as a grumpy, but lovable grandpa.
The actual reality is that he’s the last person you want to be around. Whether you’re working for him…
He’s “a prick” and “an asshole” to his staff, known as “a screamer and a table-banger.”
For these reasons, Jaffe said the word some people used to describe Sanders’ attitude toward his employees was “abusive.” (The senator’s field director Phil Fiermonte saw it differently, telling the author that Sanders just has high expectations.)
He’s fired workers for standing up for their rights… and the story just got dropped.
An anonymous unfair labor practice charge against Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) 2020 presidential campaign alleges that at least three staffers were fired from the team for their involvement in organizing and labor activities, according to a redacted copy of the charge obtained by Bloomberg Law.
The charge, which was filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) by a former campaign employee on July 22, also alleges that the campaign violated a collective bargaining agreement with unionized workers by making staffers work additional days and failing to provide commensurate days off.
When the individual asked the campaign to abide by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, management retaliated, the charge alleges.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg as far as Sanders labor conditions go. Especially for women.
And serving Sanders his food is as much fun as you expect.
Sen. Bernie Sanders was in town for the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting and dined out with staff at San Francisco’s iconic John’s Grill on Thursday, according to Politico.
The presidential hopeful didn’t impress the owner of the 111-year-old restaurant, John Konstin.
“It was all very nice, except for cranky Bernie,” Konstin told Politico.
Konstin told SFGATE the U.S. senator from Vermont declined to shake hands and take photos and “was rude” to staff.
That’s Bernie.
Lee Houskeeper, the media contact for John’s Grill, said it’s uncharacteristic for Konstin to say anything negative about his patrons.
“Bernie had to be in a terrible mood,” Houskeeper said. “Anyone in the public eye needs to understand when it’s time to order room service.”
He added Sanders left a tip and his wife apologized as the group was leaving the restaurant.
Socialists have no use for the people they claim to fight for.
