House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (S.C) said in an interview on Thursday that Democrats need to make the way Republicans on the Judiciary committee treated Jackson part of their argument in the coming months, conveying the message that the GOP is not the party of Lincoln. 

“Would Lincoln have treated her that way?” Clyburn said. “You’ve got to remind people what Democrats are about. Democrats are about making this country’s greatness accessible and affordable for all its people.

Like gas and bread. Or homes. Oops, all bad examples.

Would Lincoln have voted for a racist nominee who goes soft on pedophiles? The 19th century had its problems, but that last one wasn’t even on the radar.

Hell, Karl Marx expressed his loathing of pedophiles. A pity that modern-day Marxists can’t manage to even abide by those standards.

“Democrats produced the first black president. Democrats produced the first black vice president. Democrats put the first black woman on the Supreme Court,” he added. 

Considering Kamala’s popularity among Dems, Clyburn may want to hold off on that one. But what Jim’s really doing is fielding testing arguments to boost black turnout among black voters. The question is will black voters care more about a rich girl from Harvard, who happens to share their skin color (no word on her gender, as I’m not a biologist) than being able to gas up their car.
