The Democrat party is sick.
“Republicans’ desperate attempts to smear @RepRashida & misrepresent her comments are outrageous. President @realDonaldTrump & House GOP should apologize to Rep. Tlaib & the American people for their gross misrepresentations,” Pelosi tweeted.
The gross misrepresentation was Tlaib’s revisionist history.
Were Tlaib’s comments anti-Semitic? Revisionist history isn’t itself bigotry. But when it’s practiced by bigots with the aim of justifying bigotry, then yes it is.
Someone who also doesn’t believe that the moon landing or 9/11 happened refusing to accept that the Holocaust happened isn’t anti-Semitic.
An apologist for Nazi Germany insisting the same thing is.
Rep. Tlaib’s revisionist history is no different than a Nazi apologist insisting that there was no genocide, only efforts to fight outbreaks of disease.
It’s despicable and it’s despicable of Rep. Pelosi and Rep. Hoyer, the Dem leadership, to be defending it.
The Muslim settlers occupying Israel worsened the Holocaust in two ways. The Mufti of Jerusalem appealed to Hitler to kill Jews. (That would have happened anyway, but the Nazis were trying to appeal to Arab Muslims, and anti-Semitism was one of the few things they had in common.) And, that same dynamic gave the British government a reason to shut down an escape route for Jews fleeing Europe.
Forget what happened in 1948 and the attempted genocides then and since.
Forget the fact that Mein Kampf remains a popular text in the Muslim world.
Even during the Holocaust, the “Palestinians” played a key role in the mass murder of Jews.
And the Democrats have embraced her revisionist history. What’s next, Nancy, Holocaust denial?
