It’s graduation season. That means it’s time for the nation’s worst hacks to show up at graduation ceremonies spewing absurd lies.

“Hope remains democracy’s most powerful weapon against oppression, against cynicism, against hatred,” she said.

Pelosi told graduates she had never expected to run for public office, encouraging them to be ready to “take the leap of faith.” 

“When that happens, the best advice is be yourself,” Pelosi said. “You are the authenticity America needs. Be who you are.”

Authenticity? Let’s try some.

Pelosi’s the daughter of Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro of Baltimore, who also served four terms in the House. Her older brother, Thomas D’Alesandro III, was also Mayor of Baltimore (it’s apparently a hereditary position). 

Pelosi got a BA in Political Science, interned for a Senate Dem, and seemingly spent her entire life in politics. 

We’re supposed to believe that after all that, Pelosi never planned to run for public office. Also she probably never intended to have a net worth of nine figures, but these things happen when you accidentally get into the family business.
