The smirk seen around the world is gone as Peter Strzok, joins his mistress’ old boss, McCabe, in extremely mandatory retirement.
Instead of considering an insurance policy against Trump, Strzok might have pondered an insurance policy for staying employed once Trump won. The landing, I’m sure, will be soft. To the Democrats, anyone who worked against Trump is a hero. And with his insider connections, there will be plenty of firms eager to hire him.
But his ability to do any direct harm is gone along with his security powers. So expect a Comey-ish memoir before long. Strzok doesn’t have Comey’s name recognition so his advance won’t look anything like Comey’s. And McCabe is next in line anyway. Plus the public can probably only stomach so many of these generic, “I Was an Anti-Trump Resistance Activist for the FBI” memoirs.
Still it wouldn’t surprise me too much if next summer there were rows of smirking Strzok covers sitting in the window of your soon to be bankrupt neighborhood Barnes and Nobles.
