(Just in case this headline is confusing, I don’t mean Biden as the two-year that he was on D-Day, but during the recent commemoration.)
On D-Day, FDR was a year away from death. By then he served an unprecedented amount of time in office, had hypertension, and was actively dying. He suffered from fevers, his heart was enlarged and he had trouble functioning. Nonetheless, he made a point of doing physically challenging events to show that he wouldn’t be kept down. (I’m not a fan of FDR and hiding the scale of his condition from the American people was a major problem even during wartime.) He looked worse and at times seemed to be losing track.
But compare FDR on D-Day, a year away from death, to Biden’s recent D-Day appearance.
Let’s just start with FDR’s D-Day prayer.
Compare that to Biden’s D-Day speech, not in terms of content, but delivery.
Compare FDR’s little stunt here, again not in terms of content, but performance.
FDR was in much worse health at the time. (Although who knows what’s going on behind the scenes in Bidenville). But he could perform well. Try to imagine Biden pulling off this same basic routine.
We all know how it would go.
A dying FDR was mentally in better shape than a living Biden is now. FDR trying to stand on crutches on the deck of a vessel when they no longer fit him still looked to be in better shape than whatever this was.
It’s not just age. There were 100-year-olds at the commemoration who seemed to be doing better than Biden.
FDR (and I’m no fan of him) played through the pain. Biden can’t even find the game.
FDR was 62 when he made the Fala speech. He was physically beat, but compos mentis.
62? Damn, he looked a lot older than that. I’m 60 and still handsome as it’s possible for a human being to be. Thank God for my superior genes.
One of my girlfriends is 62 and she doesn’t look a day over 40, Parentage makes a difference.
You can still be in good shape in your 60s.
Yeah, if we want to. We can’t be lazy, though. Sloth isn’t good for our health. My 62 year old girlfriend works six days a week as a nurse caregiver so she gets plenty of exercise.
I just have a lot of uh, domestic exercise? Exercise, my ex-wife used to call it. She wasn’t all bad.

I have read in Riplys there are people over 100 who are Parachuting and Hang Gliding and Biden cant ride a Bike anyone who still supports Biden need to stay in hiding or wear a paper bag over their heads

I remember FDR complained about having a terrific headache just before he died.
That’s not good! Now if I get a headache I’ll think I’m about to die. Come to think of it, I pretty much never get headaches and haven’t had a cold in over twenty years, so If I do get one I guess I’ll be on the way out. 🙁
NOt only was he in better shape, HE ALSO HAD A SHARP EYED VICE PRESIDENT in Harry Truman…who ultimately ended the war, to his credit.
Presently, we have a walking corpse and his hyena side kick in leadership.

When he made the speech the vice-president was Henry Wallace, a fellow traveler of the Communist party. FDR would have kept him too if party leaders hadn’t made him switch. A huge hinge point in our history.

FDR still had cognitive ability too. He wasn’t comprimised mentally, just physically.
The female voice over sounded contemporary. She was just as much cheerleading and “ biased” as they are today. I am no fan of FDR for many very significant reasons but, like Trump, he knew how to tell an anecdote and charm an audience. A sympathetic audience of course. & Wow, he looked so ill.
Today’s medicines would have prolonged FDR’s life. That was not God’s plan.
And we don’t know how Biden is being treated medically.
