Something interesting is going on in San Francisco where DA Brooke Jenkins, a black woman who ousted the former pro-crime Chesa Boudin and promised to actually enforce the law, is taking on the MacArthur Foundation.
While we often call pro-crime DAs “Soros DAs” and indeed the Nazi collaborating radical billionaire did indeed play a major role in building a pro-crime network of DAs who ignore the law, there are a variety of major foundations who destroyed public safety in America.
The MacArthur Foundation is one of them.
Under DA Chesa Boudin’s reign of terror, the MacArthur Foundation had been providing sizable amounts of money to the SF DA’s office to keep criminals on the loose.
Now the MacArthur Foundation warned that it wouldn’t provide $625,000 to the DA’s office until it shows it is “fully committed to the goals and strategies” of the foundation.
The Foundation complains that there are too many criminals in jail instead of on the streets. “CCSF’s jail population has experienced significant increases and is now above the baseline ADP of 1,200”.
DA Jenkins and Monifa Willis, her chief of staff, shot back by making it clear what was at stake here.
“On multiple occasions you have sat in meetings with two black women, lecturing to us about your concern for jail population increases, the injustices of the criminal justice system and populations that need serving.”
“The ideological goal of reducing the jail population at all costs has conflicted with our emphasis on doing so responsibly and safely, which I am sure is a new boundary in a post-Chesa Boudin era,” the letter sarcastically notes.
“The Foundation has continued to indirectly emphasize that success is solely being measured by how rapidly we release people from custody regardless of their risk to the public or the lack of infrastructure in place to assist them in avoiding future criminal conduct as evident by your continued reference to jail population census when appraising our grant efforts,” it continues. “Our office has a mission to protect the safety of all those who live, work and visit San Francisco, and while we believe in the mission of identifying alternatives to incarceration, we must achieve it in a manner that does not come at the expense of the safety of our city.”
What is deeply troubling about this exchange is that an organization was able to bribe a DA’s office to free criminals in the first place.
This practice, which began under former SF pro-crime DA George Gascon (currently an LA pro-crime DA facing a likely election defeat) is deeply disturbing and undemocratic.
Come to an elected official and offer his office $625,000 to change a policy and that’s bribery. But describe it as a “grant” to their office and route it through a nonprofit and it’s somehow not only legal, but praiseworthy.
This is a deeply corrupt practice that sidelines voters and resembles that of a banana republic.
In a clean political system, voters make policy. It’s only in a deeply dirty one that a wealthy group can come in and pay elected officials to sell out their voters.
There seems to have been some kind of reaction against the extreme left in San Francisco.
Yes, I think it was business owners and home owners getting robbed Willy nilly that made many of the stupid lefties come to their senses. Didn’t CVS and Walgreens leave the city altogether? And could you imagine having somebody invade your home? Probably not in Wine Country but over 60% of San Franies say they’ve been robbed.
I can honestly say that even in crime ridden San Jose, I’ve never been robbed……except by my girls. They’re always stealing things but at least they don’t shoot or stab me. They steal weird things, too, things that no normal person would steal. In most cases I would’ve given the stuff to them if they asked for it.
I don’t visit San Fran even though I live nearby. When I went there in 1979 it was a wonderful place but not anymore.

Your very accurate reference to “woke leftist democrat cesspool big cities” reminds me of a very sobering statistic I read last year about the US murder rate caused by GUNS : IF JUST FIVE CITIES WITH THE HIGHEST MURDER RATES had been left out of the study the US would be among the safest Countries in the World ! The five cities vary from time to time, but the basic statistic stays the same. I recall three that were among the TOP FIVE : Detroit, St Louis and Washington DC. And no surprise ALL of them have Draconian gun laws.
What shocks me is how widespread this corporate bribery is at the highest levels of the US GOVT, the Courts, in Congress, the FBI, the Secret Service, Law Enforcement and right down to our local Doctors’ Offices taking orders from Big Pharma to Vax our children without the INFORMED CONSENT of the PARENTS. (And being well paid for it !) The Hippocratic Oath has become a joke. Our trust in Government is at an all time low. There’s a name for those who take money to do illegal things and bribery used to be a crime. Now it’s just become normal… As some of my young adult Grandkids say, “Burn it down. Burn it ALL down” after which I subject them to a long rant about Voting and Nihilism! But it is the life or death of our Republic this time and Voting is no longer an option it’s our basic duty.
All the more reason to STOP this “dirty money” crap! Just pass a LAW to END all the madness of “grants and DONATIONS” to political groups and PURCHASED POLITICIANS! I would bet that in MANY cases, those “funds” are nothing more than US TAX PAYERS’ FUNDS being taken by illicit means or maybe LEGISLATED MEANS and then RETURNED to the DEMOcrats/RINOS who do their bidding!! END IT ALL and let the politicians rely on CITIZENS’ Donations!
Jenkins isn’t black, she’s mixed race. Judging from her photos, I’d say she’s a majority white.
I tried to look her up. All I have found so far is that her father was from El Salvador. No info about the mom.
Her mother was probably a white slum dog just like her mother.

Isn’t it a sweet irony that the people resisting the left’s sell your soul bribery are increasingly black people? They can spot a plantation owner a mile away. Maybe it’s because the distant rattle of chains is still audible whenever they try to trick blacks into yet another raw deal.
