Editor’s note: On Friday, August 16th the Freedom Center hosted a very special event not only to celebrate David Horowitz’s 85th birthday but to honor his lifetime of work fighting the Left and defending liberty. Over 100 people attended the event in Colorado Springs, Colorado, highlighted by talks given by such friends of the Center as Fox News stars Guy Benson and Monica Crowley, former Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert, and the Center’s own Shillman Fellow Daniel Greenfield.
Below is a tribute video for David, featuring such luminaries as Victor Davis Hanson, Jon Voight, Rich Little, Mike Huckabee and others.

I remember in the early 1980s watching an episode of Merv Griffin, the book Life Extension by Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw was a bestseller and they were on that night.
Durk Pearson, an MIT biophysicist, told Merv that aging needed to be viewed as a curable disease not an inevitable process. According to Pearson and Shaw theoretically speaking all biological diseases are curable at a genetic level, we just had not reached the technological sophistication to cure diseases at a microscopic-DNA level, but one day we would.
At which point another guest said to Pearson “Wow! That means one day we will live forever!” But Pearson answered, unfortunately not, we have estimated that the average human life span can be extended to an average of 800 years. Some people will be lucky and live to a thousand or more, some unlucky people much less. The thing is there are no cures for fatal accidents, homicide, suicide, or natural disasters. So that even when we can cure all diseases including aging those factors will still kill people. If you live long enough your luck will run out and a fatal accident will kill you.
As the philosopher Kurtis Blow would say, “Well, these are the breaks, Break it up, break it up, break it up, break down”.
Boy would I love to live to age one thousand.
The chance of violent death never goes away, though. There’s always some asshole who wants to kill you.

THANK YOU especially for DiscoverTheNetworks that I go to all the time when I need to learn about a person or group. THANK YOU for your numerous appearances on Campuses, radio, and TV. (Strange that Horowitz can’t speak at Columbia, but Ahmadinejad did, and he only wanted to wipe a country off the map!)
My main focus here is to EXPOSE COMMUNISTS, mainly The Communist Party USA whose members, and former members, lead many Communist fronts. The CPUSA is dangerous and TRAITORS! I can trace many of today’s leaders to ’60s-’80s CPUSA fronts when they were aiding and abetting the Vietcong, then Central America, and now Iran and their proxies who are burning down the world with the world cowering in fear to take action against them! I’m 76-so please don’t take offense. I know what happens after the age of 70 so it’s just amazes me that David Horowitz-at 85-has as much fire as he did when he first began his Conservative musings. He and Peter Collier, both of whom I read in the late 60’s and early 70’s, were the Conservative forensic opponents of the likes of Abby Hoffman and Rennie Davis.
