Political discourse is skipping right past the “make a good argument” stage to the “lying right to your face” stage.
Exhibit 1: the Senate’s chief liar. A dignified position with a long history that has devolved to this pathetically inept shmuck.
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is accusing Republicans of fueling a frenzy over unfounded rumors that the Biden administration is getting ready to ban popular gas stoves…
“At first you have to laugh at the ‘gas stove ban’ narrative being cooked up by the MAGA GOP,” he said in a statement released Friday.
Schumer’s statement was circulated in a press release from his office that declared: “Nobody is taking away your gas stove.”
Schumer also tweeted that Republicans were, “cooking up a silly, shameless, and desperate narrative that Democrats are coming for your gas stove.”
Fact Check: Infinity pinnochios.
The governor of his own state has proposed a gas stove ban.
Gov. Kathy Hochul quietly snuck a proposal to outlaw new gas stoves into the “New York Housing Compact” she unveiled during her State of the State speech Tuesday…
“This is plain stupid,” said a 70-year-old resident of Sea Gate, Brooklyn, who gave his name as Victor K. “We lost electricity before, during Hurricane Sandy. The only thing we had to heat up our food was gas. What if that happens again?”
Hochul’s plan would ban gas stoves, hot water heaters and oil furnaces in both new home and commercial construction by the end of the decade.
A second federal agency has begun pushing a gas stove ban.
And that original report came from the infamous MAGA outlet… CNN.
A US federal agency is considering a ban on gas stoves – CNN
In the memo dated Oct. 25, 2022, Richard Trumka Jr. — whom President Biden appointed to serve on the five-person Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) — wrote to a fellow commissioner that there was sufficient evidence for the agency to move forward with a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPR) to ban gas stoves in the near future. Trumka’s memo was titled, “NPR Proposing Ban on Gas Stoves (Indoor Air Quality).”
Trumka noted that the two largest U.S. cities, New York City and Los Angeles, had already banned gas stoves in new construction “for health and inequity reasons” and because gas stoves “strongly contribute to climate change through greenhouse gas emissions.”
“There is sufficient information available for CPSC to issue an NPR in FY 2023 proposing to ban gas stoves in homes,” he concluded. “The additional work needed to complete an NPR is primarily economic; the available health and scientific evidence on illnesses caused by the relevant gasses at the concentrations present in homes with gas stoves already exists.”
Yes, they want to ban your stove, your car, your home and your life. It’s what they do. And they lie about it non-stop until they’re ready to do it.
Jeff Bargholz says
A ban on gas stoves and furnaces would be idiotic but a ban on hot water heaters is flat out insane. Who could be stupid enough to depend on an electric hot water heater, assuming they even exist?
I may be the only one on this comment board who’s suffered cold showers with no heating at all and I can tell you, it’s unpleasant. I used to have to bathe with a garden hose and that was rough. Even third world countries with no water heaters boil water and add it to the cold water they have stored before they bathe, although many of them have warm water available, especially in the tropics. But I lived in the tropics and the natives heated their water.
These people are deranged and have no concern for the public. I bet every one of them have hot water heaters powered by natural gas.
No way will they succeed in their deranged attempt to take our stoves and hot water heaters.
My stove is electric but that’s what came with the apartment.
Algorithmic Analyst says
Yeah, what happens when the electricity goes out and no hot water?
We lost hot water for awhile a few years ago, maybe during the wildfires. Cold showers are rough.
Jeff Bargholz says
Yeah, you shiver throughout the cold shower, right? That sucks. It makes you feel like an animal. There’s nothing you can do about it though, and that’s infuriating.
Cat says
It’s pretty obvious that all elites will have gourmet roaring gas stoves in their homes ( like Nancy P’s ice cream refrigerators) to show off. The peasants will have electric stoves that work every other Tuesday & Thursday to save the planet from take climate change and the peasants will be happy. Or else.
Ridiculous!
Jeff Bargholz says
Well said……………….. I have to extend my reply or the comment machine will tell me it’s too brief.

They make them(electric water heaters), but they suck. We have one in the back of the shop at work. There’s no controls on it at all, and it has to be turned off at the circuit breaker(which trips every so often). The left must be salivating over that because the temp is set at the factory and they could regulate that. It’s funny how the “pro choice” people are always restricting choices or just taking them away.
Another very efficient product this will kill is tankless “on demand” water heaters. They’re more expensive, but more efficient, and they last longer. There’s no tank temp to maintain, and no tank to eventually rust out, but they require gas to heat the water fast enough. That’s probably what our politicians and mid to high level bureaucrats have. I’ve seen pics of pelosi, aoc, and gray beaver showing off their supposed cooking, with their gas stoves in the background, as well.
Algorithmic Analyst says
Thanks for the info Cowboy! I took a shower once in Hawaii from one of those tankless on demand water heaters. I always wondered about those things since then.

CowboyUp, I have an electric HWS – a 250 litre tank which draws the minimum 1800W only between 10:00am and 2:00pm every day, and only if there is sufficient solar panel power to drive it.
Works beautifully, as my propane “tankless” on demand system was just too heavy on gas usage, so now it is only there as a back-up, in case the electric heater fails to heat over consistent rainy weather.
I live in a sub-tropical paradise in Australia, so there is plenty of sun, plenty of solar energy. Hot water for “free” – yes, I’ll hold my nose and ignore the installation costs ($2,200 AUD) – is wonderful, and far better than a roof-top mounted solar hot water tank, which cost thousands of dollars and self-destruct within 10 years.
The on-demand propane gas system is too expensive to operate as the primary system for hot water when you have women around the place. However, it is fine for my gourmet gas stove. Cheers!

“Schmuck Schumer” is this dope’s name.
Jeff Bargholz says
Schmuck Schemeer is even better. Just saying. 🙂
Jeff Bargholz says
“Schemer” is what I meant to write.

Could we ban gas bags, in stead? Good-bye Schumer.
Jeff Bargholz says
Or ban douche bags.

The communists tell you what you can eat, what you can buy, and how your going to cook it? Wondering if the EightyOneMillion are still happy.

Notice how Chuckles and the rest of the Dems. especially Biden have twisted MAGA and misused it in a derogatory way in an attempt to erase the true meaning of “Make America Great Again”. But it doesn’t surprise me in the least, it’s just a different form of blaming Conservatives for the crimes and misdeeds committed by the left
.
This is a typical tactic of the left to sway the weak minded to their cause without them actually knowing what that cause really is. And yes, I’m saying the Dem. elites purposefully target the weak in society, the politically weak, the mentally weak and even the physically weak. Along the way they also pick up some of what I can only describe as good people who thru deceit and/or playing on emotions such as empathy for the (seemingly) downtrodden are swayed to the left. Of course they do this with huge promises that, it seems, are long on promise and short on reality.

I just don’t understand how UpChuck lives with himself. Yeah, yeah, I know about the bling, but really, isn’t their someone in his family or community who tells him to his face that he lies.
