The Obama Administration II is nothing if not predictable in looking at everything within the scope of its authority, politicizing it and seeing how it can be used to divide the country and attack its enemies.

There’s a reason that the media has shut up about “political norms” as its regime takes an axe to them every 5 minutes.

The Presidential Citizens Medal is supposed to honor notable individuals in a generally non-partisan fashion. Like most things it’s generally harmless but probably shouldn’t have existed.

The Obama administration began politicizing it to a degree. The Biden administration decided to go bigger by turning the whole ceremony into a partisan attack on their political opponents.

President Joe Biden on Friday plans to mark the two-year anniversary of the January 6, 2021, insurrection by awarding for the first time in his presidency the Presidential Citizens Medal to 12 people.

The individuals include law enforcement officers who were injured defending the Capitol, a Capitol Police officer who died the day after rioters stormed the building and election workers who rejected efforts by former President Donald Trump to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Biden is set to deliver remarks and host a ceremony at the White House honoring the dozen individuals chosen for having made “exemplary contributions to our democracy” and shown “courage and selflessness” around the events of January 6, a White House official familiar with the details told CNN.

Is this the new normal? Okay.

The next administration should turn the BLM attack on the White House, May 29, into a national day of commemoration, and award presidential medals to the secret service agents and others injured in the leftist racist insurrection.

Then award medals to the pro-life protesters illegally targeted in raids by the Biden administration.

And then abolish the whole thing altogether.
