Masterful leadership.

Vice President Kamala Harris will be the White House’s point person on immigration issues at the nation’s southern border, President Joe Biden announced Wednesday, tasking her with stemming the rising tide of migrants, many of them unaccompanied children, arriving in the U.S.

“I can think of nobody who is better qualified to do this,” the president told reporters at the White House.

I could think of a few million people. Okay about a hundred million people.

Seriously, Biden can’t think of anyone more qualified than his amateur hour VP who spent a little time in the Senate? But then again, Biden has been dumping phone calls with foreign leaders on her. That might qualify as make-work, but this smacks of dumping the blame on her.

Now that the overflow is getting attention, dumping immigration on Kamala immunizes Biden from accusations of racism.

Go call the first half-black VP a racist over immigration. That’ll work as well as calling the first half-black POTUS a racist.

There is no upside to this. It’s bad for everyone. And especially for Kamala who has the no-win job of pretending to reduce the border surge, without actually doing it, and getting hammered by everyone.

The only thing this does is neutralize accusations of racism while giving Kamala Harris a job she can’t succeed at. 

Maybe someone in the Biden admin is smarter than we think.
