Here was the Biden-Harris team’s Plan A for stopping the weaponization of space.
Responding to Russia’s anti-satellite weapons test and Communist China’s earlier 2007 ASAT test, the Biden administration vows that it will surrender and refuse to deploy ASAT weapons.
Kamala admitted that the Russian and Chinese ASAT tests are “intended to deny the United States our ability to use our space capabilities” and that in response her boss will do nothing.
“We have consistently condemned these tests and called them res- — reckless. But that is not enough. Today we are going further. I am pleased to announce that as of today, the United States commits not to conduct destructive direct-ascent anti-satellite missile testing. Simply put: These tests are dangerous, and we will not conduct them,” she declared.
In the face of Russia and China’s orbital escalation, America will lead by refusing to fight back.
While Biden works on creating “international norms” for outer space, our enemies have a clear field for destroying our satellites. Kamala has announced that she’s calling on other countries to join us in also unilaterally refusing to build up the capability to deter aggression in outer space.
As Russia continued its weapons development program, the Biden administration hid the news from Americans.
One reason U.S. officials didn’t widely disseminate intelligence about Russia’s efforts to develop a new space weapon: The administration was trying to start talks to convince Russia to back off the program.
Senior intelligence and administration officials had been reaching out to Russia — along with India and China as possible intermediaries — about the project for weeks before it became public, according to a U.S. official and a person familiar with the outreach…
After Russia ignored the pleas of “pretty please, don’t put nukes in space”, Biden went to the UN.
Russia on Wednesday vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution that would have called on all states to prevent the placement of nuclear weapons in space and not take steps to develop weapons of mass destruction that could be deployed above Earth.
Thirteen member nations voted in approval of the U.N. Security Council resolution, including the U.S. and Japan, which spearheaded the measure. While Russia was the lone no vote, Moscow is a permanent member and can veto resolutions. China abstained from the vote.
So much for that plan.
Having exhausted all of its diplomatic options…
1 .Private pleading
2. a UN resolution
3. a cover-up for the American people
….the Biden still won’t develop ASATs and will keep claiming that by refusing to defend America, it’s really taking the high moral ground.
Spacibo Joe owes Russia almost as China for the fortune he was paid as he betrayed America. Shocker that his handlers and he accept Russia and China’s “advice” (orders.)
Cackling Kamala is “pleased.”
Damn, America sucks now and has for three years.
America doesn’t suck but its “leadership” sure does. This administration, the political party and the institutions behind it (talking about you media and academia) are a disgrace. I still live in he increasingly remote hope that, at some point, our supine, gullible, and unknowledgable population will come out from under the ether.
I like your comment but America still sucks. American ideals are great but they’re being thwarted. Governments and institutions which suck impose that on the whole country. Even most private companies suck.
Your hope is remote for a reason. Mine is too. I think we live in Post America. A moribund America.
Trump should change the dollar contribution to the un to 10 bucks,
In Monopoly money.
Veto Biden in November then we consider a Veto of the whole United Nations
Biden and administration don’t want spend money to protect this country because it would cut back on the funds they can pass out to illegal aliens who then might decide not to vote for the Dems in the future. They’ve got to make sure they can continue to buy that voting block.
They don’t believe in national security at all. It’s been this way for over forty years. In the 1980s, the USSR deployed triple warhead SS-20 intermediate range nuclear missiles that threatened Western Europe. They coupled that with threats to turn, e.g., Italy “into a new Pompei.” The left, including most Democrats, were absolutely silent. But when Reagan responded by deploying ground launched cruise missiles and Pership II ballistic missiles to Europe, the Left here and in Europe went crazy. The Soviet Union was also deploying over 300 SS-18 ten warhead intercontinental ballistic missiles which gave them a first-strike capability against the continental United States.. Again, silence from the Dems. But when Reagan said he planned to deploy the MX ICBM, again they went crazy. They aren’t serious people and, eventually, will get a lot of people killed with their ostentatious displays of pacificity in the face of aggressors with ill intent towards us.
Mr Greenfield left out a step.
1b. send over pallets of cash. I guess they didn’t want to be caught directly funding Russia. Effectively doing so via high oil and natural gas prices are OK because it’s in the name of Gaia.
Historically, the left and right didn’t follow the “no nukes” plan for a reason. Not building nukes/getting rid of existing nukes is not a guarantee that others will follow. Team Biden apparently doesn’t understand that.
I think it’s more a case of team Bidumb kow towing to its overlords in the CCP.
To you No Nukes in Space band of Idiots where are you now?!
