Joe Biden will ramp up spending this month as part of a new advertising push aimed partly at convincing Latino men that abortion rights are a vital issue that affects them, the U.S. president’s 2024 campaign said on Friday.
A television, radio and digital advertisement airing in both English and Spanish in competitive “battleground” states features Cesar Carreon, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who now works as a Las Vegas carpenter, mentioning his daughters and attacking Trump as “not tough” for taking away women’s “freedom.”
I understand why Biden is running on abortion and Orange Man Bad because he doesn’t have a single conceivable other issue to run on.
Abortion has a built-in demographic. Latino men aren’t on the list. What Latino men care about is the economy. And the economy is terrible. I mean unbelievably horrendous. So Biden can’t really talk to them about the economy without lying nonstop in a way that no one who works for a living or buys stuff will believe.
Still, abortion is a terrible Plan B (pun not intended). But I guess it beat out drag queen story hour, college loan bailouts for white woke PhDs and creating a Hamas state, and whatever else Biden is running on?
Voters want to hear that politicians care about the things they care about. Instead, Biden is hamfistedly trying to explain to Latino men in a condescending fashion why they need to be angry at Trump about abortion.
That should go over really well with people worried about putting food on the table.

The fighting spirit of the Latino males (and females) is incredible. I’ve been reading about what the Spanish and Portuguese guerrillas did against Napoleon’s armies in the Peninsular War (early 1800s). Going to war in Spain was possibly Napoleon’s greatest mistake, along with invading Russia.

Napoleon has always been overrated. Just ask Wellington. Back then the British Empire was the Roman Empire of its day. You didn’t fuck with them unless you were American. And they built coalitions that were effective instead of superficial.
So let me get this straight… Spanish and Portuguese partisans fought off the French troops who had come to their countries and closed the Inquisition’s infamous multigenerational prisons, enabling many of the poor souls immured there to see sunlight and taste fresh air for the first time in their lives? And when the French were driven off, with the aid of the British, the “heretics” were rounded up and put back into the hoosegow for whatever crimes some delusional, power-drunk Dominicans imagined that their grandfathers had committed? I have no illusions about Napoleon — after all I have read “War and Peace” multiple times and my ancestors lived in Russia at the time of the Napoleonic wars — but he wasn’t entirely bad, in spite of what Tolstoy seemed to think.
Well, I was thinking about entirely different issues. The Spanish and Portuguese guerrillas were a strategic factor that greatly influenced the war. The French armies could beat the Spanish and Portuguese armies in large battles, but the guerrillas would retreat into their mountains and could then attack small French units to the point where the main French units couldn’t even communicate with each other, due to the inability to send messages to each other. Etc.

When will Dirtbagocrats who vote based on abortion get it through their stupid heads that it isn’t an election issue because Presidents have absolutely no power or ability to affect abortion law in any of the fifty states? How many Americans’ lives are actually affected by the availability or non-availability of abortion? Probably very few. Those who oppose abortion on moral grounds are the 20th and 21st centuries’ version of the Abolitionists, who opposed slavery on moral grounds, and we might number a great many. But those who absolutely, positively NEED abortions number very few, and if they had two brain cells to rub together, would number close to zero. I for one am very much in favor of a woman’s right to choose — to say “no” and keep her legs together.
to have true reproductive rights, means from conception to birth – reproductive rights means to have a child you conceived and raise that child right!!
Yes, and there’s no excuse whatsoever to murder a child. The mother’s health? Let her die and save the baby. Rape or incest? Not the baby’s fault. Convenience? Let the baby be born and then execute the Medea.
Latino men already enjoy a wide range of benefits not available to most men of their social station. From access to health care to immunity from a prosecution for identity theft or welfare fraud to advantages for employment.
And those with Union jobs and/or government jobs and/or trade jobs … are well aware of their privileges.

In fact, I know – for a fact – that the NGOs planned to go after Latins after they achieved victory in the fight for the sex pervs uber alles battle. It made sense – many are Catholic, family-oriented, and hold traditional views on crime.
