(The Bostonian of the Year. Caution, language, racism, and stupidity warning.)
It’s almost like you can’t trust the activists who advocate for criminals… not to be criminals.
Controversial but connected Boston activist Monica Cannon-Grant used her nonprofit’s coffers as her own, federal prosecutors allege as the Violence in Boston founder faces charges of defrauding people who thought they were contributing to a good cause — when they actually were funding her meals, car payments and nail-salon appointments.
You can’t stop the violence with a trip to the nail salon.
The feds also claim that Cannon-Grant took $3,000 that the organization Cambridge Black Lives Matter donated “to feed needy children” and sent it right to a family member.
Monica was just following in the grand tradition of BLM leaders buying themselves mansions.
Cannon-Grant’s profile particularly soared during the racial-justice protests of summer 2020, when she organized a massive rally in Franklin Park in which she yelled “(Expletive) the police.” The donations poured in — as did glowing profiles, with The Boston Globe naming her a “Bostonian of the Year” and Boston Magazine “2020 Best Social Justice Advocate.”
Shocking stuff from the Bostonian of the Year.
You scream, “F__ the Police” and they name you, “Best Social Justice Advocate”. Then you help yourself to a pedicure and they turn on you.
