This comes after the media had spent weeks insisting that Americans were mentally ill or delusional for thinking that the economy was bad. And no, I’m not exaggerating. Headline after headline pretended to psychoanalyze the country.

Meanwhile, any normal human beings who still shop for goods and services knew this was coming.
The consumer price index accelerated at a faster-than-expected pace in March, pushing inflation higher and likely dashing hopes that the Federal Reserve will be able to cut interest rates anytime soon.
The CPI, a broad measure of goods and services costs across the economy, rose 0.4% for the month, putting the 12-month inflation rate at 3.5%, or 0.3 percentage point higher than in February, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a 0.3% gain and a 3.4% year-over-year level.
Excluding volatile food and energy components, core CPI also accelerated 0.4% on a monthly basis while rising 3.8% from a year ago, compared with respective estimates for 0.3% and 3.7%.
The government keeps burning cash while the economy remains unstable. I’m sure Biden will pop up with a potato chip Tiktok video anytime now, but the bottom line is that there are shortages and unexpected price bumps all over, combined with a messy labor situation, which means that costs will keep on rising.

And since the only way politicians wield power is by spending money, the odds are that we’re in for a difficult time. There are ways to either quickly goose the economy or to stabilize things, and knowing politicians they’ll go for the former, but Biden hasn’t even tried to do anything that doesn’t involve diverting money to his special interests.
The media was determined to lie about the economy when it could have learned the truth by listening to the public. But the media had to keep the lies up in the hopes of protecting Biden. And liars eventually come to believe their own lies and then are surprised to find that they were lying all along.

People tend to discuss inflation as the result of trips to the grocery store. Want to really experience, inflation, swing by your local hardware store and buy plumbing parts. Cost of transportation is way up, affecting every price retail price. Big truck emissions regulations passed by the Bidens last week will dramatically further increase the cost of transport that drives all prices. Beware!
If illegal aliens and criminals and US politicians and their children can game and steal and cheat the system,
and break America’s laws with impunity and without consequences or punishment,
why can’t US citizens with a good credit record do the same ?
Maybe US citizens also deserve a share of the loot the damn politicians make available.

Maybe some of these people ought to give their servants the day off and actually go to a grocery store and see what prices are actually like. Just paid $4.69 for a quart of light cream and $43.00+ to fill up my tiny 2013 Mini Countryman even with a $ .40/gallon discount at one of the cheaper gas stations around where I live. The grocery store wanted $29 a pound for sea scallops so they were right out. Factory farmed shrimp were much less costly, though. And I’m on a fixed income. Yup, I must be delusional thinking the economy sucks. That’s just gotta be it.
Scallops are good. I had no idea they cost that much, now. I’ll take a pass on the shrimp, though. Arthropods aren’t bugs but their close enough. Yuck. I can eat a mollusc but not a creepy crawler. And have you ever seen a crab up close? They’re disgusting.

It’s probably worse, and the report will revised in a few weeks to a month. And of course they left out gas, which has gone up 40 cents in the last week, and food. Those are the inflation numbers that would be reported, and all the msm and dems would be talking about, if a Republican was in the WH. We’ve seen it before.
