Decades of observing Cuomo in action sold me on the idea that he may be one of the greatest sociopaths of contemporary politics. But there’s nothing especially sociopathic here. Just the usual pandering from 2018 from a Democrat politician accused by multiple women of sexually harassing them.
Cuomo spoke Monday at a campaign-style rally billed as an official government event, where he signed an executive order he said would require insurers to cover abortion procedures. At the event, women held Planned Parenthood posters and Public Advocate and Attorney General candidate Letitia James called Cuomo a feminist, as did Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D., N.Y.).
James is currently investigating Cuomo for sexual harassment. Rep. Nydia Velazquez, who is the public face of New York’s gerrymandering abuses, has called for his resignation. That said, don’t kid yourself that everyone in New York politics didn’t know what Cuomo was up to. They knew.
“Tish James says I’m a feminist and she’s right,” Cuomo said, according to Spectrum News’ State of Politics blog. “God told me I was a feminist.”
This is almost as good as the time that Cuomo attacked President Trump by reading his little poem.
“As a New Yorker, I am a Muslim. I am a Jew. I am Black. I am gay. I am a woman seeking to control her body,” he had declared.
I am woman. Hear me grope.
As usual, the most dangerous place for a woman is in a room alone with a male feminist.
