The Democrats belatedly pivoted away from police defunding after it became clear just how badly it tested with the public, especially its minority base, but that doesn’t mean that the Left ever pivoted away from it. Instead, the Dems and their media just went on loudly denying that they had exactly the views they do.

The daughter of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA5) was arrested for allegedly assaulting an officer and defacing a monument in the Boston Common Saturday night.
Riley Dowell, who police identified as Jared Dowell, is facing charges of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, destruction or injury of personal property and damage of property by graffiti and tagging.
Boston Police say officers responded to the Common at approximately 9:30 p.m. for a protest. Responding officers allegedly found Dowell writing the phases of “NO COP CITY” and “ACAB” (All Cops Are B*******) in spray paint on the Parkman Bandstand Monument.
After placing Dowell under arrest, police say the group of 20 protestors surrounded the officers, and one officer was hit in the face, causing them to bleed from the nose and mouth.
On Sunday, Clark acknowledged her daughter’s arrest and provided a statement that reads:
“Last night, my daughter was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts. I love Riley, and this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting. This will be evaluated by the legal system, and I am confident in that process.”
And I’m confident that like most BLM rioters, especially those with connected parents, she’ll get a slap on the wrist, followed by an internship. 5 years from now she’ll be working at a nonprofit and getting ready to go into politics.
You forgot to mention a book deal and a job as a commentator at CNN.
Clark’s quote in the second to the last paragraph is a howler. Especially the line about the legal system: the “joy” in parenting for Madame Clark and her adult daughter is a broken justice system.
Odds are that this punk will never serve any time and likely the Democrat prosecutor will drop any and all charges.

It takes a pretty hard punch to make a guy bleed from the mouth and nose both at the same time. It’s happened to me and I’ve done it to other guys more than once but I’ve lived a F’ed up life. I wouldn’t wish it on any decent guy.
I kind of wonder if the story about that cop is true. It’s uncommon. Punches like that are hard to deliver and I can’t see a woke lefty doing it.
