COPIA, the Coalition of pro-Israel Advocates, posted a list of senators who voted against the anti-BDS bill resisting the racist boycotts of Israelis and Jews.
Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)
Tim Kaine (D-VA)
Cory Booker (D-NJ)
Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)
Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
Kamala Harris (D-CA)
Edward Markey (D-MA)
Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
Chris Murphy (D-CT)
Tom Carper (D-DE)
Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)
Jack Reed (D-RI)
Sherrod Brown (D-OH)
Dick Durbin (D-IL)
Tom Udall (D-NM)
Martin Heinrich (D-NM)
Jeff Merkley (D-OR)
Tammy Baldwin (D-WS)
Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)
Mazie Hirono (D-HI)
Brian Schatz (D-HI)
Rand Paul (R-KY)
Some names on this list, like Schatz, the Hawaii appointee who is the most militant opponent of Israel in the Senate, or Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders are no surprise.
Bernie Sanders is a longtime opponent of Israel who urged denying it arms sales before the Yom Kippur War.
Notably though, multiple Dems running in 2020 voted against the anti-BDS bill. That includes Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Sherrod Brown and Kamala Harris.
Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Booker and Dianne Feinstein all represent large Jewish population centers, yet chose to thumb their noses at their constituents. Kirsten Gillibrand, unlike Booker, isn’t particularly popular or established. Her increasing collaboration with anti-Semites, such as her appearance at the Women’s March, may yet backfire on her if she’s ever primaried by a serious candidate.
Both senators from California, Massachusets, Vermont, Hawaii and New Mexico took an anti-Israel stance. The only reason New York and New Jersey aren’t on the list is that Schumer and Menendez are foreign policy outliers who understand some of the issues.
Most of the Dems voting this way, don’t understand the issues and are just kowtowing to the Left.
These votes don’t represent principled opposition, but the supremacy of the Left, and in particular the anti-Israel Left, over the Democrats.
And it once again serves as a reminder that the Republicans are now largely a pro-Israel party, with just one dissent in the Senate, while the Democrats are increasingly an anti-Israel party, even in the Senate, which tended to be more sober and serious.
