On the scale of things Democrats don’t need when waging a battle for control of the Senate in a red state is Jeremiah Wright.
But so much for that.
Aside from his antisemitism, being arrested for interfering in a child abuse investigation, and being accused by his ex-wife of running over her foot, Warnock was a defender of Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright. If there’s any clip that Democrats would want buried forever, after George Soros confessing to Nazi collaboration on 60 Minutes, it’s Obama’s mentor screaming, “God Damn America.”
Maybe they shouldn’t have picked Warnock then.
Georgia’s Democratic Senate candidate Raphael Warnock evaded a question about whether the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whom he has defended numerous times over the years, is an anti-Semite.
Pressed on his support for Wright, Warnock told MSNBC’s Morning Joe: “I’m not an anti-Semite.”
Wright is also a huge fan of Farrakhan, and aside from hating Jews, also hates all white people, and apparently, specifically Italians.
MSNBC softballed the question as much as possible, but Warnock still wouldn’t condemn Wright or explain his defense of him.
Warnock has argued that the sermon needs to be understood in context. “You ought to go back and see if you can find and read, as I have, the entire sermon. It was a very fine sermon.”
Here’s that very fine sermon again.
