Disney, like MAX, had taken to slapping ‘trigger warnings’ on classic movies accusing them of racism.
“This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together. Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe.”
These trigger warnings have been slapped on everything. It’s hard to find a classic Disney movie that doesn’t have them. (Obviously depictions of sexual lifestyles in contemporary Disney productions don’t carry such warnings announcing their contents to parents.)
CEO Bob Iger had been boasting that Disney would not back down from wokeness.
When asked Monday during an employee Q&A about where the studio would now fall on the matter, Iger said “one of the core values of our storytelling is inclusion, and acceptance and tolerance. And we can’t lose that, we just can’t lose that… how we actually change the world through the good must continue. We’re not going to make everyone happy all the time, and we’re not [going to] try to. We’re certainly not going to lessen our core values in order to make everyone happy all the time.”
Disney is now taking a step back beginning with dialing down its THIS MOVIE IS RACIST warnings. Apart from dressing up its DEI program, which, like most woke corps it’s not actually getting rid of, “as part of the shift, sources tell Axios Disney is moving and changing the content disclaimers it started releasing around certain titles in 2020.”
The entertainment giant is removing the auto-play content advisory disclaimers that run before some older titles on Disney+, like “Dumbo” and “Peter Pan,” that warn viewers the film “includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of peoples or cultures.”
Instead, the shortened advisory in the details section will read, “This program is presented as originally created and may contain stereotypes or negative depictions,” two sources familiar with the changes confirmed to Axios.
The auto-play really rubbed woke contempt for classics in people’s faces. The new version seems designed to be less abrasive. It doesn’t mean that Disney is fundamentally changing, but it’s trying to be a touch less obnoxious.
Continue boycott
Those Disney dipshits are doing that for us. They ruined the Star Wars franchise and Marvel Comics movies and pay per view TV shows, which took some doing because Star Wars already sucked before those woketards got a hold of it. Both are black holes of suck.
F.U. Iger and your preening virtue signaling. I think I can decide what offends me and what doesn’t. I sure don’t need your out of touch help.
As for Disney flicks, I haven’t watched one in decades. Your movies suck anyway. Maybe you should resign.
Disney movies were great when I was a little kid. Back then they had re-releases of the classics and Kurt Russel was in a lot of their kid’s movies.
The urban legend that Walt Disney was frozen , if that were to be true he’d have a complete meltdown, knowing what has happened to his glorious creation..
The early Studios always pitted good against evil with the truth, and the beauty being the conquerors.
Now, under this leader ship of woke lefties, their evil ways dominates their industry. One of the saddest things is to see Disney have a moral collapse, led by evil people.
I am Walt Disney and I am so pissed I melted the ice I was frozen and and I am back with vengeance for spoiling my name!
Disney meets “Death Wish.”
Years ago, I actually managed to find one of the last DVD copies of “Song of the South” on Amazon when shopping for a DVD version of Fantasia. In truth, I can see why black folk have always been leery of that production, beautiful as it is, in parts, because of its technicolor, pollyanna portrayal of slavery times. The thing that I did not remember from childhood TV was how irritating the character of Brer Rabbit was–something in the voice that almost makes you long to not have him on the screen.
Song of the South” was set in the South during the Reconstruction Era and the entire theme of the movie was to get whites to sympathize with blacks and to like them. When the Central character, the white kid, Johhny, who was living on his grandmother’s plantation while his parents were separated while his father was in Atlanta and presumably there to stay, he got mortally injured by a bull when he ran after Uncle Remus across its field. Remus was leaving the plantation for good. Johnny’s father came back right away when he heard and while Johnny was drifting between life and death, he repeatedly called out to Uncle Remus. When he heard Remus’s voice through his haze, he came to full consciousness and saw Remus and called to him first. Then he called to his father and Remus graciously stepped aside.
THe movie had Oscar Winner Hattie McDaniel in it too, and was 100% pro black. In fact, the only bad characters in the movie were the two older white brothers of Johnnys little non-sexual “Girlfriend” Ginny, and they bullied both of the good kids. Johnny’s best friend was a black kid named Toby who his grandmother had ordered to take care of him and teach him right, which he gladly did.
I still remember the movie because I just saw it in 2023 or 2024 for the first time. Any blacks or “woke” whites who criticize that movie have never seen it or are racist retards, like the CRETINS who claim “Huckleberry Finn” is racist even though it’s a paean to abolition and Nigger Jim is the most honorable and decent character in the story.
I think you have reservations about “Song of the South” because you thought it was set in the Antebellum South. Now that you know otherwise I’m sure you can agree that there’s nothing offensive or even questionable about the movie and that it’s a classic. 🙂
There is a shift emerging and more and more adults are getting real tired of being talked to and treated like children.
Especially because the lectures and criticisms are coming from unethical morons. The real adult children.
The only children I know is an 8 year old grand niece who is ga-ga over Pokeman. When this little gal is an adult, I hope she keeps those toys because they may be worth something – or not
Frankly, if HellyWeird and entertainment wants to keep their woke, how gives a Flying A?
What we don’t and should not put up with woke is with airline pilots, air traffic controllers, surgeon, law enforcement, frankly all 911 first responders and 911 dispatch, US Military and all mission critical professions.
HellyWeird and entertainment has always played straight and wholesome when they have been anything but. Now they camp around all over the place and who cares? Entertainment is not mission critical and we can switch it off, mute it, not patronize entertainment.
I disagree. Having taught junior high and high school students, I can say unequivocally that movies, social media, influencers and gaming has had negative impact on children and students. Massive amounts of cognitive and psychological research has proven this over and over again.
Yes and that negative impact is deliberate. The woketards and lesser leftists are too deranged to realize their indoctrination efforts are harmful. They think their efforts are beneficial.
Commercial TV has been issuing warnings of supposedly potentially objectionable content for some time I don’t think it’s a DEI thing. It’s a CYA thing. They don’t want to deal with lawsuits from angry and offended viewers, not to mention the FCC.
I’m glad I don’t watch network TV.
Give them back the Guns and airbrush out the Brooms and Mops release Song of the South on DVD and remember in WINNIE the POOH and the Blustery Day armed with Cork-Gun against those Heffelumps and Woozles
Yes, Iger and his “woke” scum squad have banned “Song of the South” from its streaming site and DVD collection. The retards don’t even understand their own movies. That movie’s theme was to get white people to like and accept black people, and it wasn’t a sub theme or one that could be missed by viewers.
The Disney groomers lost my business a long time ago, back when they were only P.C. but not yet full on groomer propagandists out to turn boys into trannies and girls into butch misandrists..
Correction: Disney has ceased breathing.
Yeah, I don’t think zombies breath.
When “Song of the South” is available,I’ll believe Disney’s wokeness is over.
Disney is trying to hide its contempt for normal parents.
I’ll believe it when the original unedited version of The French Connection is reinstated for streaming.
Who id negatively depicted in DUMBO? I know who is negatively depicted in PETER PAN (and DOCTOR STRANGELOBE): Amputees.
