Back in November, the David Horowitz Freedom Center made the decision to dump Candace Owens.
In our article, Goodbye Candace, we pointed out that we “honored her with an Annie Taylor Award for Courage in 2018, and hosted her at multiple events. That’s why we are so disappointed in what she has become.”
“Back then she laid out an ambitious plan to ‘move the black vote 20 points by 2020’. It’s not clear what happened to that. Instead of liberating the black community, Candace began giving platforms to anti-Israel voices like Andrew Tate, a Muslim convert who said that “’ISIS are the real Muslims because ISIS do exactly what the book says.’”
What happened is that Candace became fantastically wealthy as a social media influencer.
Rather than being a serious conservative activist, Candace Owens spent all her time chasing clicks and clout, doing whatever would get her attention and lashing out at even the slightest criticism.
Now after burning through every ounce of goodwill, the Daily Wire parted ways with Candace, freeing her to build her own brand. While her descent into antisemitism got a lot of the headlines, the real story is that she had spent the past months pushing every kind of ugly and crazy agenda to get attention.
There’s little conservative or moral about anything Candace Owens preaches anymore. Apart from some generic Joe Rogan style ‘anti-wokeness’, it’s a grab bag of stuff meant to appeal to the worst people on social media.
Why? Because it pays.
Someone asked me what Candace will do next? Make more videos. If people stop paying attention, she’ll make even crazier and uglier videos.
When the antisemitism clicks die out, she’ll go do something else ugly.
Social media is a machine for making narcissistic, perpetually unhappy, monsters like this, who exist only as attention vampires.
When you pay attention to AOC or Candace Owens, who became her, they win.
What do you call a gender-neutral race hustler? Candace Owens.
And to reprise my comment … in a more pithy and succinct way …
1. you need to vet people better before making them into a celebrity (hate to blame the victim in this case, but the consequences are serious)
2. develop a quick course in ‘what is a conservative?’ … with a no holds barred expose of the RINO right, our Progressive history, our eugenics history, and how these elements became part of the Left after the war …
3. force your candidates through the course. Do not assume they’re just ‘aware’ of what’s going on … much less how we got here.
It might prevent future screw ups – because there will be many more Candaces coming down the pike – unless the whole Empire just fails and we go Full Mad Max.

Conservatives try to live by their beliefs, be it Judaism or Christianity, even when they have their doubts about the sincerity of some people. It has to be that way if their faith is true. People who have no faith or don’t adhere to those teachings, but instead to grievance, real or imagined, and use racial justifications for conning whites as a means of “getting even”, when in fact, they would do it even if there was no historical grievance. This behavior is a way of making money they couldn’t earn honestly and a method of proving to themselves that they aren’t inferior intellectually, when in fact it is proof that they are.

I don’t think it’s a matter of education, not that education is bad. Human nature triumphs for better or worse. For much worse in her case, Who was she? Now we know she was never much. She looked good. Some looked at her and said “hooray a nice looking minority that agrees with me, that makes ME feel good inside” Obama got a lot of votes that way and look how that turned out. If the Democrats steal 24 he will have been transforming this country into a S-hole for 20 years by 2028!
What’s sad is that such disappointments lead to a lack of trust the next time we come across a new face.
I disagree with the fundamental explanation of Ms. Owens fall from grace. It is a great loss.
I think she suffers from a common delusion called Antisemitism. It was only latent before she locked horns with Ben. My theory is that that relationship fed her growing paranoia when the relationship turned adversarial.
I don’t think it is the money. It is a question of belief for her. All the criticism merely serves to fan the delusional flames. And, the money appears to her as a confirmation that she is on the right track.
I think she does not have an older mentor with the wisdom to stop her going down the rabbit hole. There are a lot of famous antisemites in the Afro-American community these days (including Obama), and very few courageous, moral leaders like Martin Luther King.
What I remember is that Candace Owens was on the Left and then she became a conservative and many conservatives said that she was a faking it, she was a phony, she was just doing it because she ran afoul of the Leftist establishment and she saw her only opportunity was to fake being a conservative and make big money that way. Turns out they were right.
If she were not a young, black, female would Frontpage and Daily Wire have been so eager to believe her conversion? I doubt it.
the generations Ms Owens belongs to all want to be a so-called internet sensation and YouTube or TikTok star and this is their fantastic livelihood which even in a niche market globally over the internet is a fantastic salary for spewing divisive bullshit and lies.
Professor Thomas Sowell wrote the books on societal ills in USA and Ms Owens does a good job spewing it and shows up in CONgrASS for the dog and pony show all giving here internet cred. Of course like HellyWeird they must bring in controversial folks to get people’s attention that have nothing better to do. So like the HellyWeird crowd spewing hate against President Trump and MAGA and blatant antisemitism, it’s a nutzo clown show daily if this is what fuels you and if this is what fuels you, Bottom line, if CNN offered Candace Owens a multimillion dollar salary for her shtick, there you will find her.
Owens seems obsessed with proving her superiority, whatever that requires. Apparently her concept of superiority doesn’t include being ethical or honest.
It was just the amount of time needed for – Sister Candace was directed to take her tent show – to the next town. I say again, I saw her early in her rise – and thought – phony who puts herself first in all things. She would walk naked down the middle of the street if that got the wanted thing.
And besides – the black community has three things they don’t like – whites, Jews and gays. It is almost baked into the group.
And Asians and Hispanics.
Indeed! Thanks – I guess some of my former blond roots were up and about. 🙂 But, yes – you are right about this. In my former career (being the actual minority – sex and racial), a co-worker (naturally – you know the what) was going on about how the Hispanic were becoming too numerous. I wanted to tell her – ‘You mean – replace you as America’s number one minority?’ I knew better, but yes – the black on the street do have a long list of people they don’t like. No one suffers like them, and no one is more a victim than them.
This is inaccurate and dishonest. We have no idea if it was a mutual agreement or not for her to leave. Nothing she’s said has been said cynically as you claim. She may be a bit precocious and self absorbed, but she is an excellent activist and an outstanding voice for traditional family values. Far from a mere social media phenomena.

Virulent anti-Semitism, my arse. This charge frequently lacks substance and is reminiscent of the non-substantive charge that so and so is racist based on the flimsiest of excuses and mere emotional and irrational upset behind making such a charge.
I had great respect for Greenberg, but not any more. Anybody who hurls the charge of anti-Semitism at anyone else because of criticisms they opine against Israel is him or herself a bigot. I thought Greenberg was more intelligent, but his emotions block intellectual honesty when it comes to this issue.
I recently watched Candace Owens on YouTube with a Rabbi who also pulled the “only we can define anti-Semitism, and the definition changes, and unless you accept this brow-beating approach, that’s more evidence of anti-Semitism” (sounded a lot like Robin DiAngelo and her stupid claims that Whites denying racism is evidence of racism). This is inherently unjust, but the Rabbi could not understand this, and he expressed the view that “a charge made by a Jew against another party of anti-Semitism” has to be treated as accurate and just unless it can be proven to the one making the charge and fellow travelers that such is not the case. This is virtually equivalent to some women charging rape or other forms of sexual abuse without any objective evidence, and morons claim that the women and supporters must be believed unless absolute proof to the contrary and satisfactory to the ones making the charge are accepted.
Kangaroo court of Justice, and I did not think that Greenfield would ever be a part of it. Very sad, and I used to purchase many books and pamphlets from the Front Page authors, but that ends now. I will not support bigots who hurl the charge of anti-Semitism without OBJECTIVE evidence to support it.
And make no mistake, what they often claim is objective evidence is simply their subjective interpretation yet again.
Maybe you could show the FPM guys the same regard you show Candace Owens? Nobody is perfect.

Is Owens really that bad? I haven’t seen her on TV lately and I don’t watch podcasts so what did she say that’s so offensive?
She seems nice to me.
She claims she was brainwashed (by the right, I assume) against Muslims and now sees them as innocent victims in the war against Hamas. She simply doesn’t seem to understand that Islamic culture is unique and focused on war and conquest. She fails to understand Israel’s predicament. I think she probably won’t understand until a terror attack occurs in or near her neighborhood.

Commenting on the current war in Gaza she sympathized with poor ‘Palestinians’ claiming they are locked into an Arab ghetto in Jerusalem. Apparently she somehow mis-understood the historical meaning of ethnic quarters in Jerusalem and basically called Israel an apartheid state. When challenged, instead of admitting her error, she doubled down. Then started a fight with Ben Shapiro, throwing less-than Jew friendly quotes from NT at him and finally culminated by throwing the old blood libel at the Rabbi’s face – something about drinking Christian blood. Now, does she hate the Jews that much or just uses. antisemitic tropes to get fired and then sue her employer for breaking the contract is anybody’s guess. What’s clear is that she has no qualms about throwing about every antisemitic trope in the faces of Jews who had helped her on her way to build her career.
Sounds like she needs to do her homework. She must use the fake news media.

Kirk will probably say what he thinks. He has a weekday show on Real America’s Voice and a radio show, too. His RAV show is good.
He mentioned her yesterday on his podcast including that he travelled to Israel with her and that he hasn’t talked to her but sent her a text. He said, “You don’t know Candace Owens; see, I do.”
Yeah, that Kirk guy is very open about what he thinks and believes. I admire that.
Plus, I like anybody who has the same name as Captain Kirk. 🙂

I have no use for the wishy-washy. Being true to oneself and one’s own beliefs, ethics and political views prohibits such. I’m not saying people can’t grow or become enlightened, but a reverse course in the age of social media usually comes about for the reasons Daniel described. First, Candace was a liberal. Then a conservative. Then, an antisemite. These views all cancel each other out and leave us with what can best be described as a social media whore. I’ve never bought her shtick from the beginning, but I tend to be cynical of pretty young media stars.
Frankly, I have very little use for Ben Shapiro and ‘The Daily Wire’. When Ben wrote his Never-Trump manifesto early on, I deleted the bookmark and have never been back to the site. As I understand it, he’s come around…but I’m forced to ask: Is it because readership plummeted? Because he’s seen the face of true political totalitarianism in Biden or is it that he truly believes in the Trump cause?
I can’t answer these questions to my satisfaction, so I tend to err on the side of caution. Besides…there are SO many other conservative sites that I can trust that have perpetually been unwavering in their views and opinions that I’ll never miss them. Fool me once…

Owens problem is, cultural. Like many black Americans. She sees the world from American black and white race relation prospective. Like many people who gets drunk with fame and fortune. Start showing their true self. She is no different. She exposed herself for who she is. Unimaginative, close minded fraud.
First, Candace Owens started out as a Liberal with a Libeeral blog. When she found out she could not get any money from the Liberals and Leftists (amybe they were too smart), she switched to being a faux Conservative and she did okay for herself.
Antisemitism is a good way to make money on the internet. The demand is just so great. She could clean up on Rumble or Gab with or without the Daily Wire. Her liking someone of her fans who posted a medieval blood libel to Rabbi Boteach is akin to her early neo Communist past where she claimed or intimated that Donald Trump[ has a small penis.
That is the faux sophistication that Ben Shapiro alluded to and that is Mr. Owens.
Maybe you should go back and listen to what she said! I have and it is not what you wrote! I am a Jew and I have listened to her for several years now and I am not offended by anything she has said. Candace accepts the Islamic propaganda machine’s version of events in Gaza, and she has bought into some libels. Very bad – and much worse because she holds out to be on the Right, which makes us all look bad.
Sadly … it is a shame that her remarks combined with the ugly elements of our past …

Without any consideration for our positive history, our current need to rally together, and …

And yeah, her interview with Andrew Tate was complete softball, but that does not make her guilty of things he has said.
