Robert J. Shillman, aka “Doctor Bob,” has been a supporter of The David Horowitz Freedom Center for many years. His podcast, Life Lessons with Doctor Bob, shares with our readers valuable lessons about achieving success. His in-depth interviews with interesting and successful people prove that, unlike the MSM’s portrayal of America, this nation has been, and continues to be, a land of opportunity for anyone willing to put in the effort. This time Dr. Bob welcomes Brig. Gen. (Res.) Amir Avivi, the founder and chairman of IDSF. During his service, Amir held a series of senior roles in the IDF, including Deputy Comptroller of the Security Forces, Director of the Office of the Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander of the Gaza Division, Commander of the Sagi Division, Commander of Batallion 605 and Commander of the School of Combat Engineering.
Amir’s organization, IDSF, is a group of 16,000 reserve officers and operatives from all branches of the Israeli security forces dedicated to guiding the narrative of Israel’s national security needs and ensuring that Israel’s security in the homeland of the Jewish people is never taken for granted.
At the core of IDSF lies the belief that Israel’s security must be anchored in its ability to protect itself, by itself, while actively thwarting threats to its safety. The authoritative voices of well-known military veterans, media personalities and national security experts, are key in disseminating our security strategy for the State of Israel.
The movement welcomes all those who identify with the message and founding principles, without prejudice to religion, race, gender or rank.

[This interview was recorded several months ago, prior to the recent barbaric attack by Hamas on Israel. Although current specifics of the war are not discussed, the problems Israel faces and the solutions General Amir Avivi offers are as relevant and important today as ever.]

The only solution to Arab Israeli conflict. Always has been population exchange. In 1948-50 800,000 Jews were expelled from Arab lands. Now Is the time Israel to return the favor. If population exchange was acceptable between Turkey and Greece after WWI. And between India and Pakistan after the creation of Pakistan. It must be acceptable between Israel and her Arab neighbors.

You know what I like the most about “Dr. Bob”? It isn’t his pioneering (and successful) work in computer vision and its not that he founded and funds the Shillman Institute (and FPM); it isn’t even his pro-America and pro-Israel stances. What I like best about Dr. Bob is that no one, but no one, does a better Billy Mays impersonation.
RS says
Indeed, Israel is being tested, and their ability to act in strength to protect THEIR land. Over the years the brainwashing and attacks by enemies can weaken resolve. They need to be Strong in the Lord, and the Power of His might. He is the one who can defeat evil through the belief in HIM, just as he has in past centuries.

Just a few thoughts on this excellent interview:
–It was IMF Chief James Wolfensohn who, along with other….Jewish Notables… like Mort Zuckerman, played impresario to the Gaza withdrawal and pised away nearly $200M of their own money on that vanity project. I think we Jews have a problem with Macheritis and should stop replying on…Jewish Notables…for anything.
–Benny Begin was the most articulate and loudest voice opposed to the withdrawal and warned of exactly the scenario we’ve seen unfold these last years. He did not need to be the Amazing Kreskin to figure this out, just to have his eyes wide open, not be blinded by pats on the head by… Gentile Notables…and to have some notion of Islam and Islamic history.
–Since Daniel, in yet another Home Run article in which he called Oct/7 “Israels Tet Offensive”, I’ll mention this: in “Apocalypse Now”, Marlon Brando’s character, Col. Kurtz, told Benjamin Willard (Charlie Sheen) the story of how, as part of America’s delusional ‘win hearts and minds’ campaign, he and his green beret team inoculated Vietnamese children in a village. Later than night, some frantic villagers found Kurtz and described how the Viet Cong went into that village and chopped off all those little inoculated arms.
Dr. Bob had mentioned how Hamas demolished all the Gush Katif greenhouses–and the rest of Wolfensohns altruistic win hearts and minds foolishness/project. Nothing any Jewish Macher does will ever win anyones heart or mind.
–One, of several, problems with Israel’s/Jewry’s system/style of governance and leadership is that we Jews have no spirit, or culture, of Cincinatus. Once one (or most) of us gets an idea, it becomes an idee fixe which is never rethought and abandoned. The holders of said ideas never leaves the political, philanthropic or diaspora leader scene thus making room for new blood with new ideas. The rest of us always pay a high price for this phenomenon.
