It’s not just Biden’s approval ratings that are underwater. Presidential approval ratings can sink, but generally voters still retain the belief that the guy in the Oval Office is mentally functional.
A majority of Americans seem to have decided that Biden doesn’t even have that going for him.
Only 40 percent of voters surveyed agreed with the statement that Biden “is in good health,” while 50 percent disagreed. That 10-percentage-point gap — outside the poll’s margin of error — represents a massive 29-point shift since October 2020, when Morning Consult last surveyed the question and found voters believed Biden was in good health by a 19-point margin.
Asked whether Biden is mentally fit, voters are almost evenly split, with 46 percent saying he is and 48 percent disagreeing. But that negative 2-point margin stands in stark contrast to Biden’s numbers last October, when voters believed he was mentally fit by a 21-point margin.
Democrats and their media are blaming people who have “exposed to the right-wing disinformation machine.”
Time for YouTube and Facebook to ban questions about Biden’s mental fitness as “disinformation” and an “attack on the integrity of our elections”.
But Republicans had been pounding home the idea that Biden was mentally unfit throughout 2020. It didn’t work. If anything, there’s less of that sort of messaging now than there was last October or November.
What the Dems and their media don’t want to admit is that the public is coming to these conclusions after Biden was forced to leave his basement, appear at public events, and stumble through even basic messaging. And a portion of the public is adopting this as the explanation for why they supported a guy who turned out to be a disaster. “We didn’t know he was senile,” is a more palatable excuse than “we were fooled”.
