Zohran Mamdani, currently running for mayor of New York City on a platform of taking everything that the DeBlasio administration did and tripling down on it, along with a healthy dose of ‘Intifadaing’ the Jews, claimed that President Trump was responsible for the decline in tourism because he’s deporting illegal aliens.
Here are some alternative possible explanations for the decline in tourism.

The illegal alien corpse rapers and subway arsonists may have more to do with the decline of tourism than Trump deporting illegal aliens.
And Mamdani is proposing to triple down on freeing criminals, defunding police and harboring illegal aliens who commit horrifying crimes like these.

Pundits continue to predict that New York City, and the USA, will recover from the decline brought on by each villain elected to high office. Truly, there is often an uptick when a reformer like Giuliani, Reagan, or Trump takes office. But in my experience, the status quo ante is forever lost. For America, this has been true since Woodrow Wilson (or Edith) was president. I was told by an old New Yorker that the city has been sliding since 1946.

For generations, hotel space has been used for welfare recipients. Now hotels are being used for illegal invaders. That reduces the options for tourists. The conditions in areas housing them also keeps tourists away.
