Biden’s people decided to stage his campaign speech denouncing half the country with a sense of crisis with red lighting against dark shadows and had two Marines standing in the shadows against a brick wall. There was a real sense of crisis in making Biden look like the villain in a movie about a fascist dystopia, but not the one they wanted.
The Biden regime claimed that having them there was about showing the “deep and abiding respect the president has for these service members.”
Showing them respect would mean handing out medals or delivering a speech praising them. Not using them as props in his fascist theatrics.
And even Democrats and the media are questioning using Marines as props.
An Iraq War veteran and former Democratic Party official on Friday criticized the presence of US Marines in the backdrop of President Joe Biden’s speech in Philadelphia, during which he issued stinging political criticism of Republicans.
“We need to make sure that our military is as removed from politics as possible and it’s not right if a Democrat uses the military as a political pawn and it’s not right if the Republican Party does it as well. None of our politicians or elected leaders should do that,” Allison Jaslow, a former executive director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, told CNN’s Brianna Keilar on “New Day.”
Biden’s cronies keep insisting that a speech by a White House Democrat ahead of the midterms denouncing Republicans is not “partisan”.
White House officials pushed back on criticism that the President’s speech was political, telling CNN’s Jeff Zeleny that “democracy is not a partisan or political issue.”
If you insist that your agenda is so important and that anything important isn’t partisan, then nothing is partisan.
Jaslow said Biden has a “real opportunity” in his administration “for a reset” and return to presidential norms and respecting institutions.
“You can’t criticize a prior administration and not also hold yourself to a much higher standard,” Jaslow argued, adding, “If you don’t want the so-called MAGA Republicans or any Republicans to be politicizing the military, of which many administrations have done, then you shouldn’t do it yourself.”
This isn’t just “politicizing the military”. There was no rational reason to have Marines in the background here. This wasn’t a war speech, it wasn’t a speech to the troops or about them. The only relevance of having them deliberately positioned there was to send a message of intimidation to Americans. It was a reminder that Biden has powers of command over the military.
This is banana republic stuff.
That was CNN by the way. MSNBC has a defense of this fascist display that makes things much worse, claiming that, “Biden aimed to showcase his faith in the military apparatus and its ability to back the democratic order.”
Nothing says “democratic order” like rolling out the military apparatus to back it. Like in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
“I’m not sure what they were going for with the strange and wildly inappropriate setting, unusual weird red lighting, most worrisome having Marines standing beside him while he’s engaging in a political attack against 74 million Americans who voted for Republicans in the last election,” Senator Tom Cotton said on FOX News Friday morning.
“Then again, what else would you expect President Biden to talk about? He can’t run on his own record.”
He can however go to war against half the country.
