What does Islam teach about abortion? This question has become particularly pressing after the Supreme Court’s bombshell reversal in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization of the 1973 precedent, Roe v. Wade, which in conjunction with other Supreme Court cases proclaimed an unlimited constitutional “right” of abortion. Now Americans of all backgrounds, including Muslims, will decide on the legality of abortion directly at the ballot box.
Ismail Royer, a former member of the Hamas front group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) who spent 14 years in federal prison for terrorism-related offenses, now directs the Religious Freedom Institute’s Islam and Religious Freedom Action Team as part of his claimed desire to lead a reformed life.
