Not that it was ever really in doubt. The Bulwark is funded by Pierre Omidyar, the sugar daddy of the digital Left. Jennifer Rubin spends all her time churning out clickbait spin for the Biden administration. And the Lincoln Project is, aside from the kid stuff, a bid for Dem cash.

But the mask keeps coming off more so every day.

A group of anti-Trump Republicans on Thursday will endorse a slate of Democratic lawmakers facing tough races in next year’s midterm elections, in a bid to stop the Republican Party from retaking control of Congress.

RAM, whose leadership includes former Republican Governors Christine Todd Whitman of New Jersey and Bill Weld of Massachusetts, said supporting moderate candidates is vital to safeguarding American democracy.

The lawmakers to be backed by RAM include Representative Abigail Spanberger of Virginia and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, and Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, all Democrats locked in close contests.

Locked in close contests? Some of these don’t have a clear opponent. The so-called Renew America Movement is backing them before the primary process has even produced a Republican opponent. This isn’t a case where they can even claim that they’re backing Democrats against some sort of “dangerous extremist”. They’re backing Democrats because they’re Democrats.

The pretense that they’re against some specific Republican, whether it’s Trump or anyone else, is collapsing. And it’s becoming absurdly obvious that the so-called Never Trumpers are just an arm of the Democrats. Considering that Christine Todd Whitman and Bill Weld were as Republican as Colin Powell, that’s not saying much. Never Trumpism has become a grift for the remnants of the Rockefeller Republicans to complete the transition that’s been underway for generations to join a Democrat Party.

That’s a tribal class preference that began as the Democrats moved away from the South and rural areas and turned into a party of wealthy urban and suburban elites. All the posturing is just about sealing the deal for class privileges for northeastern blue staters who want a global economy, cheap labor, and a welfare state that cripples social mobility. Everything else is just political propaganda.
