It’s rarely a good idea to premise a policy debate on one huge false assumption, whether it’s Iraqis will welcome democracy or taking out Iran’s nukes means World War III. The anti-interventionists built a house of cards around the idea that Iran was so terrifying or that, as Tucker Carlson claimed, Russia and China would intervene and set off WWIII.
The overhpying of Iran’s military capabilities was a mistake that clearly both sides were guilty of. Israel’s tactics were brilliant and as a religion person the role of G-d in human affairs, especially those touching on Israel, is paramount, but Iran also proved weaker than expected when it came to maintaining air power and being able to defend against air strikes.
That backfired mostly on the anti-interventionists who had set up the myth of WWIII. The anti-interventionists kept harping on the Iraq War, but this time they were the ones who had based everything on a false assumption about how things would work out.
Once the presumption you’ve based everything on falls apart, what’s left besides furious arm waving? It didn’t work for the neocons and it’s not working for the libertarians.
When your predictions don’t match up with reality, you’ve lost the argument.
Reality would mean truth, and anti-interventionists want so much that truth be their warped fantasy of it. And they have their spoken and unspoken prejudices and inbred hatreds that predicate their ‘predictions’. Most twisted is the lack of moral empathy and moral responsibility. Cowards, say what you ‘really’ mean.
Carlson does not say what he means – he’s a hack. I was convinced of that when I saw him pull an absolutely clownish stunt in a Moscow supermarket. That’s as cheap of a stunt as you can possibly think of. He’s not THAT stupid. Just a fake.
Carlson is no different from the rest of the media hacks with a podcast. Without exception, they all tend to come across as self righteous assholes at times and Carlson is having his moment.
His bread and butter is controversy and attention. When viewed in that light, it’s best to keep what he and others like him say in perspective. He’s entitled to his opinions and we’re entitled to agree or disagree with him. That’s how America works.
The repeated “Goldie Hawn giggle” (I saw her do it over and over at some award ceremony when she was a quite older woman – the girlish giggle from yesteryear the made her famous). Carlson does his signature giggle before he speaks and at intervals during a speech.
What a jerk!
Yes.
WWIII? What a joke. Are the mullahs and their Revolutonary Guard going to swim Across the Atlantic or Pacific with knives in their mouths? Next it’ll be fear stories about impotent China and their tiny Asian dicks kicking our doors down.
Any “war” would be a push button spanking. All America would have to do is push some buttons to send the missiles flying. Some dweeb who plays video games could crush Iran. And Navy Destroyers have a firing range of 15 to 63 miles. And those cannon shells are bigger than a human head. You don’t want to get nailed with one of those things.
There’s a reason Israel is spanking Iran so easily.
It is a very good day Daniel Greenfield.
It is a very good day for everybody really.
Reality is so often the inconvenient truth many simply refuse to face. Israel looked at reality and recognized the existential threat and planned a necessary response.
As noted in social media, a preponderance of the Iranian people side with Israel because they want the chains of the savage, totalitarian Islamic rule obliterated and their country returned to them.
There are REAL existential threats like Iran acquiring nuclear weapons and cultivated threats that governments use for purposes of instigating wars under dubious justifications for power and profit.
Israel knows the difference and when Iran boasts of being close to having nuclear weapons to annihilate the Jewish people and the Nation of Israel we believe them and their rhetoric has been confirmed by all of their actions operating in accord with what they’ve said.
It’s essential that the world ceases conflating genuine existential threats and actions with those deliberately instigated by those seeking to profit from war and the acquisition of additional power at others expense.
Israel seeks to be safe from threats to our people and the Jewish nation. For those extrapolating and superimposing other motives, you’re the problem!m; STOP BLAMING ISRAEL for facing the reality others in the world continue denying.
Here’s a flipperoo from nazzi Germany era –
Germany’s Merz says Israel is doing the ‘dirty work for all of us’ by countering Iran

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expresses strong support for Israel in its attacks on Iran, speaking on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada.
“This is the dirty work Israel is doing for all of us. We are also victims of this regime. This mullah regime has brought death and destruction to the world,” Merz says in an interview with the ZDF broadcaster.
Sorry, but I cannot help but muse that his name is Fred Mertz (I Love Lucy show character – married to Ethel).
Allah is not so great after all.
