As Mel Gibson discovered, the recent LA fires so thoroughly destroyed his home that the remains would fit inside an urn. For this disaster, Gibson cited willful neglect on the part of Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass, who decamped to Africa while the smoke was rising, and Gov. Gavin Newsom, who was busy promoting his bullet train project in the central valley.
Gibson (The Year of Living Dangerously, Braveheart) has now joined “Saving California,” the movement to recall the coiffed Democrat, who survived a recall attempt in 2021. By contrast in 2003, Democrat governor Gray Davis, a former state controller, lost the recall vote to actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (Total Recall, True Lies).
Elected in 1998, Davis failed to prevent power blackouts across the Golden State. The Los Angeles Democrat became only the second American governor to be recalled by the voters, (the first was North Dakota Gov. Lynn Frazier in 1921), losing to the upstart Schwarzenegger by a 55.4 to 44.6 margin. By that time voting by persons illegally present in the United States was becoming an issue in California.
In a 1996 House race, Democrat Loretta Sanchez defeated Republican Robert Dornan by only 979 votes in a race with 748 improper ballots cast and 624 by illegals, quite possibly many more. Spearheading the voter fraud was Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, led by the Stalinist Bert Corona, who got millions of dollars from California’s Department of Education.
Since the early 1960s, Democrats have deployed politiqueros, party cadres who bribe and threaten illegals and legals to vote for Democrats. As a State Department investigation showed, false-documented illegals have been voting in local, state and federal elections for decades. Under Democrats, this brand of fraud got a big boost in the Golden State.
In 2013, Assembly Bill 60 allowed illegals to get driver’s licenses. The state then geared up the “motor voter” program by automatically registering the illegals to vote, a felony under federal law. In 2015, Secretary of State Alex Padilla told the Los Angeles Times, “at the latest, for the 2018 election cycle, I expect millions of new voters on the rolls in the state of California.”
By March, 2018, the DMV had given licenses to more than one million illegals. Padilla wouldn’t say how many of the illegals actually voted in 2018, but his previous reference to “millions” provides a ballpark figure. The motor voter program has never been independently audited, and after the 2016 election Padilla refused to cooperate with a federal probe of voter fraud. In California, that fraud takes many forms.
In 2010, San Francisco district attorney Kamala Harris, a protégé of Democrat queenmaker Willie Brown, was so lightly regarded that the Sacramento Bee endorsed her Republican opponent Steve Cooley, district attorney of Los Angeles County. As CBS News reported Cooley ran up “a comfortable lead in early returns” and on election night proclaimed victory. Democrat Secretary of State Debra Bowen declared that more than 2.3 million “late or provisional ballots remain to be counted.”
A full three weeks later, Harris prevailed by less than one percent. No word of how many illegals cast ballots or how many of the “provisional ballots” were fraudulent. Consider also the experience of Gavin Newsom, who boasts connections to the Brown, Getty and Pelosi families.
In 2018, Newsom defeated Republican John Cox by a margin of 61.9 to 38.1, more than Gray Davis’ 57.97 to 38.38 victory over Dan Lungren in 1998. One of Newsom’s first acts as governor was to reprieve the sentences of more than 700 convicted murderers, the worst of the worst, on the state’s death row. When massive wildfires scorched the state, destroying lives and property, the governor blamed it on “climate change.”
In March, 2020 Newsom locked down the state and proposed a ban on sport fishing, as police arrested solitary paddleboarders on ocean beaches. Newsom spent $1 billion on masks from a Chinese company, hiding the details even from fellow Democrats. The governor partied with lobbyists sans mask at an upscale eatery, exempted his own businesses from the shutdowns. For private gatherings of the people, Newsom imposed draconian rules that mandated masks even while singing and discouraged the playing of musical instruments.
During the pandemic, Gov. Newsom presided over more than $30 billion in unemployment fraud, with millions of dollars going to fraudsters, criminals, and even some of the death row inmates the governor reprieved. Newsom pushed transgender ideology in the schools and signed Senate Bill 145, which allows a 24-year-old to have sex with a 14-year old and escape felony conviction and registration as a sex offender.
And so on. For more detail, see “The Top 50 Disasters that Newsom has Ushered into California” and “How to Kill a State in 5 Easy Steps: Gavin Newsom’s California.” By 2020 Californians had suffered enough and gathered signatures for a recall. All told, Newsom was far more of a disaster than Gray Davis, but in September 2021 Newsom prevailed by a margin 61.9 to 38.1, virtually identical to his victory in 2018.
Newsom claimed that those who voted no the recall “were really saying ‘yes’ to vaccines, science, inclusion and pluralism.” If Californians thought voter fraud carried the day it would be hard to blame them. The millions of illegals registered to vote by the DMV prompted little if any curiosity from the state’s press corps. For all but the willfully blind, the illegals constitute California’s imported electorate, and this is the Democrats’ plan for the entire country.
When Kamala Harris ran for the US. Senate, Gov. Newsom named Alex Padilla to replace her. The senator nobody voted for now wants the Treasury Department to register voters at federally funded tax-preparation centers for those with “limited English,” code for illegals in the style of “migrant” and “undocumented.” This is a version of motor-voter for the millions of illegals Biden brought in, with no criminal background checks or health records.
Trump is deporting as many as possible, violent criminals first, but there’s more he can do. All federal aid to California should be conditioned on ballot reform, specifically targeting illegal voters. Anyone who supports voting by illegals forfeits any claim to follow the rule of law. Voter fraud should be a front-line issue leading into the mid-terms and 2028. In the meantime, we’ll have to see what happens with the recall for Gov. Newsom, now joined by Mel Gibson.
“California was ill-prepared and had scant resources to deal with the inevitable fires.” Gibson explains. “So are we supposed to believe our elected officials didn’t know that? Of course they knew that. Governor Newsom and Karen Bass let us all down.”
Meh, so you get rid of Newsom and you replace him with who?!
This is just more swapping of deck chairs on the Titanic, when the passengers need to abandon ship and move over to a U.S.S. CONSTITUTION.
“Chad Bianco?” was deemed too short of a comment by FP’s software.
As a native born and raised in the idyllic seaside village of La Jolla, CA, growing up in the 60’s and 70’s was almost too incredible to describe.
Pretty girls in bikinis everywhere, gnarly beach dudes struttin’ around like golden-tanned Greek gods, skateboarding down the treacherously steep Nautilus Street to the beach at Wind’n Sea, during intense Santa Ana offshore wind events, that made the bodysurfing shore-break waves absolutely explode before they pounded you into the beautifully white sand.
Girls and guys alike had giant pieces of skin peeling off their noses because they literally lived out in the sun during the long hot summers. (that’s before that skin cancer thing was a thing)
And the evenings were spent awaiting that cool “Green Flash” of the sun passing the sky-ocean horizon line. Few heard of the highly classified “White parties”, where sun-torched beach locals would organize a giant sunset keg party on a secluded beach, and cordon-off an area with giant palm fronds that we stole from various locations around the city. (actually backed the ’65 Ford truck up to the giant palms down by Mission Bay and broke out an extension pole tree saw.) The finished look was that of a Polynesian luau complete with entrance tunnel of palms. No, it wasn’t “Whites only”… it was “you gotta wear all white clothes.” That was back in the day of chicks in “Ditto jeans” and the guys who appreciated their efforts.
Is it any wonder that after I returned from 10 years in the Navy that I kept constantly getting in fist fights and other altercations with all the “kooks” who had entrenched themselves in the old beach areas I grew up in? They were destroying my home town. They were trashing everything, homeless freaks were converging, college punks on BMX bikes blocking the boardwalks, talkin’ smack to long time homeowners and elderly locals, because mommy and daddy paid for their million dollar condo on the beach while they attended San Diego State University. And I was willing to risk jail or injury to tell these interlopers to bail.
I wish I could afford to move back there… but I’m getting to old to get arrested again.
We tried once and lost. The idea of an honest election in calif is ridiculous.
Keep that slime far away from Washington.
Yes, it’s as ridiculous as building a bullet train from SF to LA…
Not all Hollywood is full those Democrat Lapdogs just remember how Bread dead liberals reacted to his movie The Patriot when his Charature armed his Son with Firearm so they can save other son and is wasn’t a Rainbow Flag either
