Maybe we should have been paying at least as much attention to the military leadership as we were to the DOJ and the FBI?
Secretary of Defense Esper, who made it clear that he wouldn’t defend the seat of the nation’s government against violent Marxist mobs, has rolled out the perfect politically correct bureaucratic appeasement tool for the mobs.
Behold the thing, as Joe Biden would say, that will have Red China’s generals trembling in their boots.
“I recently shared with you my pride in being a member of an institution – the United States military – that embraces diversity and inclusion, and rejects hate, bigotry, and unlawful discrimination in all forms,” said Secretary Esper. “More often than not, we have led on these issues. However, we are not immune to the forces of bias and prejudice – whether visible or invisible, conscious or unconscious. We know this bias burdens many of our Service members, and has direct and indirect impact on the experiences of our minority members, the cultural and ethnic diversity of the force, and representation in our officer ranks.”
The idea of unconscious bias is a construct of leftist racial theorists.
But it’s a damn good thing that as a war is getting started between China and India, Esper is accusing “many” members of the military of being racists.
And we’ll get a diversity board in to fix that.
These three initiatives are: 1) standing up a new, internal “Defense Board on Diversity and Inclusion in the Military,” which will conduct a 6-month sprint to develop concrete, actionable recommendations to increase racial diversity and ensure equal opportunity across all ranks – especially in the officer corps;
A diversity board.
The military is now being run the way that it was under Obama. And it’s a disaster.
“Removing bias and prejudice in all its forms, and ensuring equal opportunity and respect for all will make us stronger, more capable, and more ready as a joint force. A diverse and inclusive DoD draws out and builds upon the best in each of us.”
No it won’t. It will expose more of the military to political brainwashing by diversity trainers, it will tear down competence and meritocracy, and replace it with even more quotas and political correctness,
This is how we lose.
This is how competent people are forced out of the military, denied advancement, and purged because they won’t kneel.
Second, I will begin the process of standing up a “Defense Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion in the Armed Services” that will mirror the well-regarded and successful Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services. This Committee will be a permanent structure, comprised of a diverse group of Americans committed to the task at hand.
Not military members, but Americans. I’m going to speculate, mostly on the Left.
This thing needs to go before it’s made “permanent” and Esper needs to go with it.
“My goal is to effect an enterprise-wide, organizational and cultural shift.”
That’s Marxist talk. We don’t need cultural shifts or revolutions in the military.
“While we pursue these initiatives, I ask each and every one of you to reflect upon the issues of race, bias, and inequality in our ranks, and have the tough, candid discussions with your superiors, your peers, and your troops that this issue demands. This is an added responsibility for our Officers and NCOs, who must also double down on your mentorship of up-and-coming minority leaders, and make diversity and inclusion a priority. This is what I expect of leaders.”
Not competence, not honor or victory. But berating service members for their white privilege.
This is how you transform the United States military into the Swedish military.
These are the policies of the Obama administration and its plan to dismantle the military being implemented under President Trump. The White House urgently needs to put a stop to this.
