Like a Bulgarian car factory, or any area of Soviet economic activity, the wokes have the magical ability to take any separate crises and combine them together into some sort of giant crisis robot through the sheer holistic energy of unintended consequences.
Take the supply chain crisis and teachers’ unions deciding that they’d rather sit in their pajamas than teach kids.
America’s already stressed food supply chains have been hit tremendously hard by the wildly contagious omicron virus variant, leading to increased food shortages, as reported by Bloomberg, which could lead to further price increases and 2020-style scarcity… That’s only become more pronounced in recent weeks, as grocery stores are having increased problems finding and keeping workers, especially as the viral spread is leading to school and daycare closings
Meanwhile, pro-crime DAs who decided to stop prosecuting minor crimes like trespassing, theft, and armed robbery are adding to the supply chain crisis.
Union Pacific is pressing local and state officials to help it with a spike of robberies occurring on the railroad’s property in Los Angeles. The thefts involve trespassers climbing onto trains and breaking into cargo containers.
UP said Sunday that it asked Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón last month to reconsider local persecution policies so that trespassers are held accountable.
“Even with these expanded resources and closer partnerships with local law enforcement, we find ourselves coming back to the same results with the Los Angeles County criminal justice system. Criminals are caught and arrested, turned over to local authorities for booking, arraigned before the local courts, charges are reduced to a misdemeanor or petty offense, and the criminal is released after paying a nominal fine,” said the Dec. 20 letter signed by Adrian Guerrero, UP general director-public affairs.
“These individuals are generally caught and released back onto the streets in less than 24 hours. … In fact, criminals boast to our officers that charges will be pled down to simple trespassing — which bears no serious consequence. Without any judicial deterrence or consequence, it is no surprise that over the past year UP has witnessed the significant increase in criminal rail theft,” Guerrero said.
The situation has gotten so bad that customers such as UPS and FedEx have been “seeking to divert rail business away to other areas in the hope of avoiding the organized and opportunistic criminal theft that has impacted their own business and customers,” Guerrero said.
UP continued in the letter that it was “contemplating serious changes” to its operating plans to avoid Los Angeles County, which the railroad acknowledged could significantly impact local, state and national supply chain systems.
Good thing we’re not already in the middle of a supply chain crisis or anything. Next time you see empty shelves, it’s not just Biden, it’s the Soros DAs who decided that crime should pay.
I’m sure Buttigieg will be right on this after he gets off his six-month paternity leave or whatever the excuse is this week.
But if UP is serious about this, they ought to be talking to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings who’s been funding Gascon. Then again having his partner’s mother-in-law murdered doesn’t seem to have stopped him.
Hasting’s wife, Patty Quillin, is also charitable and political. She opposed Proposition 20 which would have toughened some laws against theft. “Issues surrounding social and racial justice animate her,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. She donated to San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. But that’s not the only District Attorney that Hastings’ family funded. Quillin also donated 1,253,000 to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon. Hastings donated $500,000 himself.
Ted Sarandos is co-CEO of Netflix alongside Hastings. His wife is Nicole Avant, and his mother-in-law is Jacqueline Avant. Why is it important to know who Reed Hastings’ partner’s mother-in-law is?
acqueline Avant Was Shot and Killed in Her Home
The Beverly Hills Police Department received a call at 2:23 a.m. about a home invasion. Someone came onto her property, shot at her security guard, and smashed a sliding glass door. Apparently the security guard did not return fire. The burglar entered the house and shot Avant in the stomach. Her husband, Clarence Avant, was home at the time. Jacqueline was alert and speaking when paramedics arrived, but later died. She was 81.
That must make for some awkward office conversations.
Is there some competition between Soros, Hastings, Zuckerberg, and Bezos over which of them can wreck America the most?
