Steele was contracted to produce opposition research on President Trump for the Clinton campaign which was rolled into the DOJ. Despite the revelations of whom Steele was working for, the credibility issues with his material, the FISA stuff, the whole thing didn’t actually stop.
Steele filed a series of intelligence reports to US authorities during the Trump presidency, including information concerning alleged sexual exploits…
The second dossier contains raw intelligence that makes further claims of Russian meddling in the US election and also references claims regarding the existence of further sex tapes. The second dossier is reliant on separate sources to those who supplied information for the first reports.
The Telegraph understands this agent, referred to by Steele in his interview with the FBI, supplied information for the second dossier.
The new dossier contains, like the first, a series of raw intelligence reports on alleged Russian interference linked to Trump and his associates.
The Telegraph’s reporting contains minimal useful information. There’s no timetable for when this material was being sent to the FBI, but the reference to a 2017 interview suggests that it was in at least the first year of the administration. The interview referenced by The Telegraph happened in September 2017. A month later, in October, it was finally widely admitted that it was a Clinton work product.
Comey by that point had long since been fired. Wray got the job in June. And this was still going on.
