On December 16, Frank Gaffney interviewed me on the Liberal Government of Canada crisis: what brought Liberal leader Justin Trudeau to this point, and what to expect in the new year. The interview and update was posted HERE. In the story that accompanied the interview, I stated:
Much has unfolded since December 17, but key points include the fact that New Democrat Party leader Jagmeet Singh (Trudeau’s former prop-up man) has indeed confirmed that he will support a no-confidence motion, which is expected to be tabled once parliament resumes at the end of January — that is, if Trudeau doesn’t decide to prorogue parliament so as to avoid it.
As it happened, Trudeau’s ego did not allow him to face a no-confidence vote. Instead, he quit. However, he asked the Governor General of Canada to prorogue Parliament until March 24. In Trudeau’s words:
She has granted this request, and the House will now be prorogued until March 24.
In so doing, the Governor General may have betrayed Canada’s Constitution. An article written in the National Post states that Governor General Mary Simon was not only “wrong to approve Prime Minister Justin’s Trudeau’s request to prorogue Parliament,” but that she did betray Canada’s Constitution by letting Liberals escape Parliament:
It’s based on a simple but easily misunderstood reality: the Liberal party is not the government. The whole issue of the Liberal leadership selection is irrelevant. Our government is headed by the prime minister Justin Trudeau and his ministers. These are the people who must hold the confidence of Parliament. And at present, they obviously do not.
Every single other party in Parliament has now announced publicly that they no longer have confidence in the current government. This might not matter if the Trudeau government had a majority. But, of course, they do not. They have been a government in a minority situation and at the whim of the other parties, mostly the NDP.
And it isn’t only the other parties that have lost confidence in Trudeau, but his own party as well. According to Reuters:
Trudeau, under heavy pressure from Liberal legislators to quit amid polls showing the party will be crushed at the next election.
In Trudeau’s usual prideful, deceptive style, he made his decision to quit AND to prorogue Parliament all about what’s supposedly best for Canada:
“I’m a fighter. Every bone in my body has always told me to fight because I care deeply about Canadians. I care deeply about this country, and I will always be motivated by what is in the best interest of Canadians,” the prime minister said.
Trudeau said he believes his resignation will “bring the temperature down” and allow Parliament to reset and get back to work “for Canadians.”
“Parliament needs a reset, I think, needs to calm down a bit and needs to get to work for Canadians,” Trudeau said when answering reporters’ questions following his announcement.
“Removing me as the leader who will fight the next election for the party should decrease the polarization that we have right now,”…
Trudeau is now serving as the lingering stench of a dead carcass as he vainly hopes he can maneuver his way into saving some face and scoring points in a party that is as guilty as he is.
Nothing has changed.
Every Liberal MP and Leadership contender supported EVERYTHING Trudeau did for 9 years, and now they want to trick voters by swapping in another Liberal face to keep ripping off Canadians for another 4 years, just like Justin.

Let’s hope that opposition leader Pierre Poilievre manages to expose the rot within the Liberal Party that has virtually destroyed Canada’s economy while turning the country into a radical Left cesspool.

I saw you on Gaffney’s show the other night It comes on at about 2 in the morning, here in California, Pacific time. I suffer from insomnia so I saw it.
You were great. I hope I see you on the news again.

Trudeau is giving people time to beg him to stay… and voila! the media will report masses begging him to stay.
