After Mueller broke their poor little hearts, the Resistance once again overflows with fantasies of Trump being locked up. And CNN is licking its ratings chops.

And that’s what it’s been about.

The investigations serve their own purpose, they maintain surveillance on political opponents, cripple their networks and maintain a perpetual funk of scandal around them.

Trials are a test and even the heavily rigged D.C. federal trials have their legal limits. And an actual trial, even if it ended in a conviction, would very nearly defeat the true purpose of the game.

The purpose of manufacturing a threat is building and maintaining the machine meant to fight it. The fight isn’t meant to be won, only perpetuated. 

Trump becomes a pretext for targeting a wide range of conservatives. Every action is met with a reaction that further boosts the “Fortify Democracy” complex and expands their range of powers and tactics.

The Left’s goal is the fascist one of consolidating and seizing direct and total power over all Americans. Their means of doing so are…

Seizing police powers is tricky business, but invariably involves manufacturing some sort of extremism threat. Spygate moved beyond Clinton administration era paranoia about militias to go after a broad spectrum of the conservative movement. Trump is the thinnest slice of the onion. The point is to normalize this kind of thing until America closely resembles a totalitarian country where the political opposition is routinely subjected to investigations and suppressed with police powers. 

The Obama administration, like the JFK and FDR administrations, marked the broad use of police powers against political opponents. The Biden administration is going beyond Obama. Under Obama, surveillance was used against domestic political opponents. Under Biden, they’re building it out to more direct raids and information seizures. How long will it take until they get more ambitious?

History suggests it won’t be that long.

But for now building a police state using a manufactured emergency is the central goal. The pretexts, as always with lefties, matters much less than the power.
