According to Rebel Media founder Ezra Levant:
I heard that Dalhousie University had invited Omar Khadr, the Al Qaida terrorist, to speak to students. I thought that was appalling, so I flew from Toronto to Halifax this morning to attend the event tonight. Little did I know that Khadr would be on the same plane as me, just a few rows ahead of me. He was sitting first class — that’s what you can do when Justin Trudeau gives you $10.5 million. I didn’t recognize him when I boarded the plane because he hid his face from me. But I recognized him when we landed and he stood up.
Levant recorded the encounter, and the video is a must-see:
Every Canadian taxpayer should be outraged by this video. The injustice of an al-Qaeda jihadist set free and becoming wealthy on the backs of hardworking taxpayers who are under jihadi threats is appalling enough, but Omar Khadr maintains a smug, superior grin on his face throughout the video. His facial expression and posture are a slap in the face to every freedom-loving Canadian taxpayer and a gross insult to Khadr’s victims. It should create alarm.
Meanwhile, the policeman is “proud” to be defending a jihadist against a law-abiding citizen. He should have followed at a safe distance to maintain peace, but not trample the rights of Levant as he did. The policeman’s obnoxiousness in the video is worrying, as it signifies that when a country such as Canada drifts further into totalitarianism, there are police who will execute the will of corrupt leadership, rather than apply the laws equally and protect and serve the public as they are sworn to do.
In early January, a similar display by police occurred when Toronto police threatened a Rebel journalist for calling Qassem Soleimani a “terrorist,” which he was.
Jihad Watch also reported on January 26 about Khadr’s being invited like a celebrity to speak at Dalhousie University, an invitation which served to legitimize him as a respectable Canadian. What made this particularly twisted was that Khadr was addressing the topic of “children’s rights.” Never mind the pain he has inflicted on others, particularly the children of Christopher Speer. Khadr was also quoted as stating that “his $10.5 million settlement was for ‘all Canadians’”! Anyone would be hard pressed to find a more ridiculous statement. The wealthy Khadr has since used $3 million of his wealth to invest in an Edmonton shopping mall.
The widow of an American soldier killed in Afghanistan and another former U.S. soldier partially blinded by a hand grenade plan to file an emergency injunction to stop Ottawa from paying $10.5-million to former child soldier Omar Khadr. Tabitha Speer and Layne Morris allege Mr. Khadr was responsible for the death of Sergeant Christopher Speer and Mr. Morris’s injuries in Afghanistan. Two sources say they are expected to ask the Ontario Superior Court as early as Wednesday to uphold a 2015 Utah civil court judgment ordering Mr. Khadr to pay them $134-million (U.S.) for his actions in Afghanistan.
Khadr’s lawyer was out for big dollars — $20,000,000 in “compensation” — and was seeking a formal apology where none was called for; the government of Justin Trudeau decided to dole out $10,500,000 and issue an apology for some alleged abuse and shoddy treatment that the poor jihadi Khadr supposedly endured in Guantanamo. The victims never saw any compensation from Khadr. According to a Globe and Mail article in 2017: “Canadians know this is wrong,’ Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said on Twitter. ‘If Omar Khadr is truly sorry for what he did, he’ll give every cent to Tabitha Speer and her two children.”
The smirk on Omar Khadr’s face throughout the video indicates just how repentant he really is; and shame on his supporters who are surrounding him, as well as on the two police officers. Let’s hope that most police officers are unwilling to stoop to becoming Gestapo-like state minions.
