China used to boast that this would be its century, but will there even be a China at the end of this century?
The numbers are not promising.
China’s population fell for the second year in a row in 2023, as deaths outpaced births in what was once the world’s most populous country.
Chinese authorities see the declining population as an existential threat to its economic future.
In 2022, China saw its first population decline since the 1960s, though it still had a population of 1.41175 billion people.
China’s population declined for a second consecutive year in 2023, dropping by about 2.08 million to 1.409 billion people, the country’s National Bureau of Statistics announced Wednesday.
About 9.02 million babies were born in 2023, compared to 9.56 million the year before.
Deaths were also on the rise. China saw 11.1 million people die in 2023, up from 10.41 million in 2022.
The real issue is demographics. China has a very elderly population and the replacements aren’t coming.
Taken together with the number of people who died during the year — 11.1 million — China has more older people than anywhere else in the world, an amount that is rising rapidly.
The shrinking and aging population worries Beijing because it is draining China of the working-age people it needs to power the economy. The demographic crisis, which arrived sooner than nearly anyone expected, is already straining weak and underfunded health care and pension systems.
Even the moderate projections are looking pretty grim.
According to Chinese state media, China is already approaching a “moderately aging” scenario, in which 20% of its population is ages 60 and older. By 2035, that percentage is expected to rise to 30%, or more than 400 million people.
By 2100, China also appears poised to roughly double its “dependency ratio” – the proportion of its population that is outside working age (either ages 0 to 14 or ages 65 and older), compared with the proportion that is working age (15 to 64). This is even true in the UN’s “low variant” projection. In fact, based on the UN’s middle-of-the-road estimate, there will be more Chinese people outside the working-age population than in it – a dependency ratio of 101.1 – by the year 2079.
But this underestimates the baseline reluctance of Chinese women to have children.
Young urban Chinese couples, detached from family and communities, are embracing a Western urban lifestyle with a vengeance in which they want to buy consumer goods and vacations, but have little interest in investing in having kids.
If these kinds of declines continue, China will start looking like Japan which stopped being the threat it was in the 80s because it began an elderly nation with lots of wealth and technological development, but no dynamism.

Unless it figures out how to break the cycle, by the time the century is over, China will be a giant nursing home.

The anti-vax people did not put Covid-19 patients in nursing homes. The EU authorization was used to bypass the usual safety protocols and, once that happened, even the protocols that were not done away with by EU authorization were ignored. The meagre testing that WAS done revealed evidence sufficient to halt all vaccination, but these results were hidden from public view. Anyone who pressed for information or who question the “safe and effective” narrative in this environment was punished and silenced. The government received requests for and granted immunity to Big Pharma, as well as Big Pharma’s legal ability to hide all relevant data from the public until after everyone now alive was dead or very elderly.
Is anything I have said above untrue? If not, then how should I and people like me have reacted? You can roll up your sleeve, but do not condemn me if I do not do so. Your demand that we all bow the knee is more religious than scientific.
Thanks to many on the pro-vax side, thousands died of heart attacks and breathing issues bc govt forced them into nursing homes where they contracted covid, which killed them.

How many were injected?
As for the population decline, what will governments do? When they thought is was growing too quickly the communists punished anyone with more than one child and raised a generation os spoiled brats.
When the government noticed birds eating food they killed them all and then had an insect problem.
When government notice that people are not breeding, what will they do?
Get girls raped? Hang homosexuals? Inject hormones into males and females? Encourage mass migration? Make robots?
We have had at least 5X the number of Chinese deaths added to our population by illegal immigration in the last few years. China could just open their borders and voila!
Is it possible that the overall plan in the US is to allow unchecked immigration to offset our collapsing dependency ratio? Was that the plan all along?
Don’t think so. Unchecked immigration is helping to collapse our economy and overwhelm us in every way.
Its easier to stop people from doing something, e.g. having kids, than to get them to have kids.
Especially when the perfect storm has hit. 1- the economy sucks and having kids is expensive, 2- the indoctrination camps…er. I mean schools have presented families in a bad light and 3- the sacrifice of time and money to have kids vs the purchase of new tech devices or vacations, for the current generation, is no choice at all — bu bye kiddos.
I had 4 and I would not have traded the joy they bring to have a bigger TV or another vacation EVER. You just can’t buy that kind of joy.
I don’t worry about Chinese not having kids. I see the ever increasing number of Chinese families walking with their 3 kids on the streets of my neighborhood; I worry more about all those white couples, a rarity in my neighborhood of late, who don’t even bother to marry and have even one child.

Who’s is worse shape? The White population in America and around the world or China?
The only way to think of that would be to calculate the damage done to the world by the loss of China or westernkind (because the west is largely the creation of white Europeans, but includes many who are not).
The Chinese people, before the cultural revolution, enjoyed a beautiful culture unique to themselves which I think they have the right and duty to cherish and preserve. The loss of either China or white people would be tragic.
Once them Chinamen get over here and see American blondes and redheads, a population bomb will explode. But it won’t matter bc by then China won’t exist no mo. The stresses of war will fracture her into many warring factions, just like under Sun Yat-sen and them fellers.

Back in the ’90’s as the new cities started rising in mainland China, and we were hearing the annual growth cycle going to the Moon in China, I thought – just wait for when the gas goes out of it. We would see an bubble blow like the world has never seen. This will make the tulip bulb one look like child’s play.
And, between the corruption of the commie elites, what China has done trying to control population is only going to take them down faster than just all the air going out of all the corrupt businesses they largely have risen with.
