The EV sales plan crashed and burned. It was always based on the lie that the majority of Americans would be able to afford electric vehicles.
They could not and would not.
The New York Times reported that the Biden administration will abuse EPA regulations to eliminate most real car sales by 2030. The plan is to force 67% of car sales to be electric by 2032. Most Americans won’t be able to afford them, but they’ll have no other options.
Even the cheapest electric cars, which are still far more expensive than their real car counterparts and are just one battery problem away from turning into mostly unusable junk, are out of the price range of the majority of Americans who need an income of $80,000 to make an EV auto loan work. That’s fine in Washington D.C. where the median income of $83,567 is the highest in the nation, but will entirely price much of the country out of the new car market.
53% of Americans earn less than $75,000. Some of the 16% who earn from $50,000 to $75,000 may be able to make an electric vehicle purchase work if they squeeze, cut back on food and clothes for the kids, but the remaining 37% will be completely locked out. And, unable to own a car, they’ll have even bigger monthly payments or, with no transportation, be unable to work.
Automakers focused on the luxury SUV end of the market while cutting lower-cost EVs because they knew that.,
But there are only so many luxury EVs that the market can bear and with Tesla’s dominance, the plans to transition Ford and GM to electric cars has crashed and burned with massive billions of dollars in losses.
And yet the car bans must go on.
The Biden administration released its updated ‘moderated’ car ban numbers and they’re still unworkable.
Carmakers will have to bump up electric and hybrid vehicle sales—to 56 percent of sales for EVs and 13 percent for hybrids—while drastically cutting gas emissions by 2032, according to the Post.
Not workable. And most Americans oppose it.
Nationwide, support for car bans is strongest among urban voters. And yet even there, ban backing never quite tops 50%. In suburban areas, support drops down to 31% and rural areas falls all the way to 24%. That stands to reason because to whatever extent electric vehicles are viable, it’s only in the core density of major urban areas. Outside them, they’re unusable.
Polls also shows support for a car ban is tied to income. Even the cheapest electric vehicles are out of the price range of most Americans. That’s why opposition to car bans climbs for families making less than $40,000 and even those making up to $80,000. The proposed car ban means families being unable to replace their minivan. It means mothers who can’t drop off their kids at school and fathers who can’t drive to work.
A car ban is an extinction level event for American families.
But that’s the plan.
Biden instructs auto manufacturers to go broke as Americans keep their hydrocarbon-fueled vehicles and refuse to buy overpriced Chinese transportation.
Yeah, as if we’re all supposed to drive to Canada or Mexico to sell our internal combustion, hydrocarbon-fueled vehicles at a loss and take a LOOOOOONG distance Lyft or Uber ride back to our homes – homes without cars because who the fuck can afford $100,000 Biden bucks to buy an EV that we can’t use anyway because there is no infrastructure to support them. And they always spontaneously burn up in deadly fires anyway. If it rains on your EV it turns into a conflagration. You can’t even drive them more than 50 miles without the Chinese battery taking a Ching Chong dump, not that you’d be able to charge one anywhere anyway.
Yeah. That $60,000 average price tag for EVs? Naw. Long gone. That was a Trump Era price tag. Welcome to Bidenmerica, where a cannister of Barbara Bush Quaker Oat Gruel costs as much as your monthly mortgage or rent. You can’t even afford to take a shit in this country anymore. yup..I been saying that for some time..The purpose of the EV is to eliminate privately owned cars for most people and push them into public trans / 15 minute cities.

Dystopian science fiction writers have been writing about car-less futures for a long time. We should have paid attention. Even the band Rush had a song, ‘Red Barchetta’, about a young man who visits his uncle’s country place “outside the wire” to criminally drive a 50 year old hot rod monthly that his uncle had saved from a time “before the motor law”. It’s almost as if they were trying to tell us something.
I landed in the southern US after the military, and after being here for decades and seeing how gas and oil runs through so many of their veins, I have little doubt that the illegal hot rod will continue, even if they have to “brew” their own fuel to power them. This is the land of the moonshine still, after all. Resistance comes in many forms.
When we come to the place where we understand that electric vehicles have nothing to do with environmental concerns and EVERYTHING to do with governmental control over the citizenry, those dystopian writers start to make more sense…and maybe we should give ‘Black Beauty’ an oil change and a lube job.

Of course missing from the “EV’s will save the world” narrative is where all the electricity is going to come from to power them. There Is zero discussion of that by design. All us peasants must understand is that the powerful, wealthy and elite will not be affected in the slightest by the policies and misery they force on us.
